Summary

Forge Nano Inc. is a fast-growing advanced material engineering company with a focus on manufacturing nano-scale coatings across a wide range of markets including Li-Ion Batteries. Forge Nano is seeking a Battery Manufacturing Technician to join their Battery Prototype Manufacturing Team. This position will focus on operating battery manufacturing equipment and day-to-day operation of Forge Nano's Battery Prototyping Line.

The Battery Manufacturing Technician should be prepared to work in a fast-paced development and prototyping environment. The role requires a hands-on and safety-focused individual who is comfortable following the standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instruction, safety protocol as well as wearing the clean room personal protective equipment (PPE). This role operates under the supervision of Battery Manufacturing Engineers and will report to the Process Engineering Manager.

Skills and Responsibilities

The Battery Manufacturing Technician may be responsible for tasks and skills such as (non-exhaustive):

  • Performs step by step processes needed for lithium-ion battery manufacturing.
  • Operates equipment and machinery related to lithium-ion battery manufacturing.
  • Performs quality control and testing related to lithium-ion battery manufacturing.
  • Performs step-by-step processes related to equipment maintenance.
  • Participates in root cause analysis, equipment troubleshooting, process improvement, and safety improvement activities.
  • Prepares weekly reports on progress, challenges, and provides suggestions on improving the processes and equipment operations.
  • Works with the team on detailed documentation of process data, equipment operation, SOPs, and quality control data.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Process Technology, Industrial Technology or a high school diploma with 1- 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and fix equipment issues efficiently.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with semi-automated manufacturing equipment
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience with chemical handling and mixing operations.
  • Hands-on experience with various manufacturing equipment, preferably in the battery industry.
  • Experience with industrial safety, clean room, and dry room.

Work Environment

Work will predominately be in a clean room/dry room environment within battery prototyping/manufacturing line. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel toe shoes, clean room protective suit, and respirator. Strict adherence to corporate and/or plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required.
