Palm Beach County, Florida – Hospitalist Medical Director Job

Clinical Role:

  • Permanent, full-time employed position
  • Seeking a board certified or truly board eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine hospitalist
  • Medical Director role – prior leadership experience required
  • Reason for need: physician resignation
  • Daily census ranges from 60–90
  • No procedures required
  • No codes or rapid responses (covered by intensivist team)
  • Intensivist group in-house 24/7 managing ICU, rapids, stroke alerts, and codes
  • Approximately 70–75% clinical and 25–30% administrative responsibilities
  • Dedicated administrative time included
  • Monday–Friday daytime schedule
Leadership & Program Overview:
  • Oversee daily operations of the hospitalist program
  • Manage a team of 12 physicians plus APPs
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols and quality initiatives
  • Coordinate with hospital leadership and other departments
  • Focus on patient flow, efficiency, and resource utilization
  • Mentor providers and ensure regulatory compliance
Practice Setting:
  • Community hospital (~250 beds)
  • Established hospitalist team: 10 daytime physicians, 2 nocturnists, plus APP support
  • EMR: EPIC
Qualifications:
  • MD or DO with board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Active, unrestricted Florida medical license
  • Prior hospitalist leadership/directorship experience required
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills
  • No visa sponsorship available
