Job Summary
Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) Athletics' Facilities and Operations department provides coordination, support, and management of 15 NCAA Division I Athletic programs in the ASUN Conference and well over 1,000 events per year.
FGCU Athletics' Facilities and Events department seeks a highly motivated, hardworking, and detail-oriented individual for the position of OPS Coordinator, Athletic Facilities and Events. This entry-level, hourly, position serves under the supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director, Facilities and Events in support of the Facilities and Events department for FGCU Athletics.
Job Description
Typical duties include but not limited to:
Operations:
  • Coordination of visiting teams, officials, custodial, and security for assigned sports home events.
  • Management of the game day staff for assigned events.
  • Responsible for game day operations for assigned sports, which includes being the manager on duty for those sports.

Facility management:
  • Coordination of the student staff to carry out daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance at assigned facilities.
  • Oversee the facility usage, enforce facility policies, and coordinate events held at assigned facilities.

Other duties
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description
Required Qualification:
  • This position requires four years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
  • Prior experience working in collegiate athletics, preferably in Facilities and Events.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Work, Excel)
  • Individual must be a team player, who is highly motivated, a self-starter, detail oriented, and possesses as strong work ethic.
  • Passion for Division I Intercollegiate Athletics.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of applicable safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and guidelines established by professional organizations and/or governing agencies.
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous demands are involved.
  • Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively manage the work of others by providing information, guidance and motivation.
  • Ability to work up to 30-40 hours a week, including some nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willing and able to work outside in extreme temperatures and weather.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
