Job description

Position Title: Back End Supervisor (BES) Reports to: Store Manager / Co-Manager / ASM Department: Store Operations

FLSA: NON - Exempt

Position Summary:

The Back End Supervisor reporting to the Store Manager/CO-ASM is directly responsible for all aspects of Receiving including Preparing and Processing all merchandise to the sales floor, Both Floor Ready and Non-Floor Ready Product. Backroom cleanliness, organization and detailed standards. All Backroom Functions include but not limited to (receiving, processing, EAS tagging, size nubbing, and reports individual productivity and overall backroom efficiencies to the store manager. Partnering with Manager on duty and all department team members on proper freight flow with a unified goal to be Door to Floor (DTF) in 24 hours without compromising our customer shopping experience. The BES ensures the store’s backroom is fully staffed to the model and partners with the admin on any personnel needs/deficiencies. Fully responsible for ensuring all company policies and procedures are understood and executed. Accountable for improving store DTF efficiencies, shrink controls by following FM EAS procedures and company guidelines.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding all company Cartons per Hour (CPH) and overall DTF expectations.
  • Ensures the door to floor in 24 hours standards are adhered to.
  • Partners with Manager, Co Manager or ASM to ensure the backroom is scheduled to the workload needs of the business while staying at or under the budgeted hours.
  • Directs and inspects all daily activities to include all Incoming and Outgoing freight properly processed with EAS tags to our current LP tagging guidelines.
  • Reviews and helps maintain the damage area, mismate area, signing room, layaway and any other stockroom related areas.
  • Manages the excess fixture inventory in the store for ease of placement and organization when not in use.
  • Reviews direct reports (Processors) daily individual productivity. At the end of the day Records on the Backroom Production Board the individual team members as well as the entire team's daily productivity.
  • Evaluates, counsels and disciplines personnel based on performance in partnership with the Store Manager.
  • Conducts morning Backroom Huddle meetings topics including yesterday’s results, recognizes top performers, discusses the present days goals and strategy. Also, coaches and counsels underperforming individuals in a positive professional manner.
  • Ensures flawless execution of all Company Initiatives to include: oFreight processing
  • Backroom housekeeping and layout standards. oSupplies for the job -monitors, recycles, and partners with upper management ordering of needed materials to accomplish DTF.
  • All company initiatives
  • Ensure outstanding customer service by verifying all team members greet, assist and thank customers in a positive approachable manner when working on the salesfloor. Present a positive image towards all team members, customers and the community.
  • Communicates policies, procedures, advertising and all pertinent information to the staff.
  • Audits operational controls to ensure all policies are adhered to.
  • Help deter theft by ensuring all team members are greeting and assisting every customer, maintaining a clean neat and organized workspace free of any holding or stashing of merchandise.
  • Facilitate all repair and maintenance issues immediately and communicate with the SM to ensure issues are resolved in a timely.
  • Position Requirements:
  • Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights and overnight, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ability to communicate effectively as it relates to communicating to customers and team members all Forman Mills written policy and procedures, training materials, directives and any other materials Forman Mills produce.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions in order to operate the register, make change and conduct inventory.
  • May be required to lift up to 40 lbs. and on occasions up to 70 lbs. from floor level with adequate fitness level to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and repetitive lifting with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of managing a freight processing environment in a retail setting
  • HighEnergy, Handson Leader
  • Excellent People Skills
  • Computer Skills: preferred but not a requirement.
