Job description

This position assists in the operation of the production department lines under the direct supervision of the Production Supervisor.


Participates in the supervision of production employees.

Recognize and report any situation that could affect the safety of an employee.

Obtain all necessary packaging and or processing materials ahead of time.

Recognize and report any situation that could reduce production efficiency or plant productivity and could affect the quality of the product or service.

Making sure that the employees are doing the monitoring of the CCP according with the HACCP procedure.

Monitor that the product is being produced and packed within specifications.

Inform employees under his/her direction about production and attendance schedule.

Complete all assigned paperwork with accuracy and legibility.

Assist in the preparation of production reports.

Participate in product mock recalls.

Monitor the attendance of employees under his/her direction.

Contact employees when machinery breaks down or any other unforeseen situation occurs.

Recognize and report any major deviations from the production schedule.

Perform inventories of raw and packaging materials.

Schedule employees breaks and lunches in a manner that will maximize productivity.

Help relieve employees during lunch.

Rotate employees in a manner that will maximize productivity.

Train new employees and monitor their progress as well as assist in evaluating them.

Operate all machinery within his/her work cell (check-weightier, SAP system, pallet jack, label machine, metal detector, etc.)

Notify maintenance and management when machinery breakdowns occur.

Ensure that all employees are complying with the GMP’S and Safety rules.

Perform pre-operational inspections.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. 2 years of experience in a production line in a manufacturing plant required. Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing preferred. Previous Leadership experience preferred. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES


Experience overseeing a production line is highly preferred.

Experience and exposure to regulatory inspections (AIB, OSHA, MILITARY, Health Dept., EPA, City & County Inspectors)

Must have good organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize assigned work.

Experience with manufacturing safety concepts, applications, and committees.

Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices

Must be able to work independently with a proven record of follow-though, teamwork and accountability.

Excellent people skills with the ability to adapt to system changes as needed.

Good math skills

Able to perform simple analysis.

SAP & Kronos knowledge preferred.

Effectively communicate in Spanish and English both verbal and written (desirable)

Be able to walk long distances and to be on his/her feet for long periods of time.

Able to work in dusty, noisy, hot, cold, and small areas.

Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.

Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.

Be able to lift to 50lbs.


Shift: 3rd (10pm-6:30am)

Starting Hourly Pay: $22.78 + shift differential, OT, 7 Holidays, & Vacation Pay
