Assistant Bookkeeper
Location: Downers Grove, IL 60515
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday | Fully In-Office
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Assistant Bookkeeper to join our growing team. This role provides bookkeeping and administrative support to Finance Managers while ensuring accurate financial reporting and exceptional client service.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, professional, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced financial healthcare environment. The Assistant Bookkeeper will work closely with multiple clients and internal stakeholders, requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide bookkeeping and administrative support to multiple Finance Managers
  • Manage daily accounting activities within QuickBooks
  • Process and maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records
  • Perform bank reconciliations and process returned checks
  • Process client expense reports accurately and timely
  • Download and reconcile daily bank deposits and update deposit records
  • Prepare, enter, and print checks
  • Process client deposits via various methods
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and related administrative tasks
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Support multiple clients while providing exceptional customer service

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Previous bookkeeping, accounting, or finance support experience required
  • Experience using QuickBooks required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
