Job Description
Purpose
The Director of Communications will play a pivotal role in elevating the Allergan Aesthetics reputation with key audiences including consumers, HCPs and trade and consumer media. Through close partnerships with Global Communications, US PR and marketing teams, the role will be responsible for driving an integrated communications strategy by ideating, shaping and executing programs that complement product brand positioning and drives the company's leadership, innovation and market presence at key industry conferences and beyond.
This role will drive proactive and reactive media engagement, advance industry and business thought leadership, and support corporate partnerships, HCP engagement, and external-facing initiatives that strengthen Allergan Aesthetics' positioning across key business sectors. The Director will also support communications for Allergan Medical Institute, crisis management, business continuity needs across product and issues management, executive visibility, while providing strategic counsel to senior and functional leaders on critical issues.
In partnership with internal and digital communications leaders, the Director will help amplify key strategies and stories across the organization and, where appropriate, extend their reach through broader channels and audiences. The role will also provide strategic leadership to communications agencies and collaborate across global and international counterparts to ensure alignment, consistency, and localized relevance.
Essential Job Functions
  • Serve as a strategic business partner in developing communications plans that advance business priorities and reputation goals
  • Identify compelling story angles and creative narratives that showcase company and leader strengths
  • Build a deep understanding of the aesthetics market, peer landscape, and media environment to inform innovative communications programs, partnerships, and assets
  • Lead media relations strategy development and execution with a proactive, reputation-building mindset
  • Demonstrate strong judgment in balancing immediate needs with long-term business and communications objectives
  • Anticipate challenges early, solve problems proactively, and influence cross-functional partners through creative, compliant, and solutions-oriented communications counsel

  • Develop clear, compelling key messages and deliver effective written, verbal, and executive-level communications

Education and Experience
