Job Description Summary
The Pompano Beach Operations Director will have site operations leadership responsibility and oversight of the business in Pompano Beach, Florida. This role is a key member of the Power Conversion and Controls Leadership team and will align business objectives in partnership with a cross-functional group to achieve the strategic objectives of the business. This role has both direct and indirect responsibility over EHS, Facilities/Security, and Manufacturing Operations team members, and will partner closely with Quality, Engineering, Sourcing, Programs and FLIGHT DECK leadership to ensure business objectives are met. While directing and supporting all these functions, this role will also be critical to driving New Product Introduction design for manufacturing through delivery of products and milestones. The Operations Director for this business will report to the Power Conversion and Controls (PC&C) Business Unit Leader, who oversees the overall business. This role demands exceptional leadership, and technical expertise, with a relentless focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of all who work in the facility and operation, at all times.
  • Ensure the site and operation remain in compliance with all EHS and Quality governance expectations
  • Lead and drive the site team while partnering with all other functions inside and outside of the site.
  • Provide oversight of facility and equipment maintenance, as well as improvement projects across the site
  • Lead teams in day-to-day daily management from an operations standpoint and consult across all other functions, to include OE, NPI and NTI products and/or milestones
  • Management of Change, procurement, calibration and repair of lab equipment.
  • Maintain awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer/program needs
  • Communicate technical, organizational, resource, and personnel issues with the PC&C leadership team
  • Ensure company compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented

Leadership & Team Management
  • Oversee site resource needs, promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with applicable GE Aerospace policies.
  • Drive lasting operational efficiencies through FLIGHT DECK including Standard Work, Daily Management and Problem Solving.
  • Provide leadership development and performance feedback to site personnel
  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external customers & suppliers.
  • Drive site culture and engagement.

Operational Excellence
  • Demonstrating leadership commitment, engaging employees, and implementing stop-work practices when necessary.
  • Ensure that site execution meets or exceeds performance targets in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity.
  • Develop and track expense and investment budgets with the input of each organization
  • Establish and adjust an organizational structure that best supports the site goals and measurements

Quality and Compliance
  • Establish and enforce rigorous quality control standards
  • Maintain compliance with operational and financial transactions in accordance with GE Aerospace policies.
  • Develop and enforce quality standards as part of the Quality Management System.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Business from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 8 years of technical or operational leadership experience

Desired Characteristics:
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Science or Business from an accredited university or college
  • Prior experience with a focus on managing technical programs and designing and developing new products related to solving product issues
  • Prior experience with New Product Development (NPI) process
  • Prior experience with Lean management system
  • Strong coaching expertise and success in working across the business functions, other GE businesses, and the global teams
