Job description


JOB SUMMARY
Marriott International is seeking a Director, Contract Management & Tools Administration, to join Hot Shoppe Services International, Marriott's enterprise procurement team.
As a key member of the Contracting leadership team, this individual has both a deep understanding of the tools and technology emerging in the contract management space and the skills to support core contract management activities including contract creation, reviews, negotiations, and execution.
The Director is primarily responsible for selecting, deploying, and sustaining AI-enabled contract management solutions that improve the efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness of Marriott's contracting processes. This role is responsible for the maintenance, optimization, and governance of contract lifecycle management tools, ensuring platforms operate securely and in alignment with Marriott's legal policies and business needs. The Director also develops and delivers training, guidance, and change management support to ensure team members and stakeholders are equipped to use tools effectively and consistently.
Secondarily, the Director drives best-in-class legal and commercial terms across a sizeable portfolio of complex transactions and projects, partnering closely with corporate, continent, and discipline stakeholders to develop and execute procurement strategies, strengthen supplier governance, support audits, and advance responsible sourcing and financial sustainability.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required
  • BA/BS

  • 7 years of contract management experience in a large, global organization

  • Deep technical knowledge of contracts, including contractual risk management (e.g., limits on liabilities, indemnities, insurance coverage)

  • Expertise in AI contracting tools, including optimization of workflows, playbooks and templates

  • Understanding of changes in contract management driven by AI and other evolving technology

Preferred
  • Experience managing a team

  • Experience drafting and executing contracts

  • Juris Doctor or Masters in Business Administration.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
  • Lead the selection, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of AI-enabled contract lifecycle management tools and related technologies

  • Develop, maintain, and govern contracting workflows, templates, playbooks, and automation to improve efficiency, consistency, and compliance across the contracting process

  • Provide training, guidance, and change management support to ensure contracting teams and stakeholders use contract management tools effectively and consistently

  • Support full-cycle contract management activities, including contract creation, review, negotiation, approval, execution, performance monitoring, renewal, and termination

  • Drive negotiating strategy for complex transactions to achieve best-in-class legal and commercial terms, optimize financial outcomes, and mitigate contractual risk

  • Interpret contractual requirements, identify risks, engage subject matter experts, and manage internal escalations to ensure contracts include appropriate legal and business protections

  • Strengthen supplier governance by monitoring supplier performance, service levels, KPIs, contractual compliance, and identifying opportunities for performance improvement

  • Use data and analytics to manage contract workflow, track outcomes, identify process improvements, and support informed decision-making

  • Support audits, policy compliance, responsible sourcing, and financial sustainability initiatives related to contracting and supplier management
