Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Location: Bethesda Homes - Saginaw
Reports to: Bethesda Residential Supervisor
Position Type: Per Diem | Hourly
Wellspring Lutheran Services is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a per-diem Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Bethesda Homes team in Saginaw. In this role, you will support adults with developmental disabilities by promoting independence, safety and quality of life in a supportive residential environment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care and activities with dignity and respect in alignment with Individual Support Plans (ISP).
  • Assist with personal care needs including medication administration, bathing, dressing, toileting and housekeeping.
  • Prepare and serve meals based on individual diets and preferences.
  • Schedule and transport individuals to medical appointments, outings and errands.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with medical orders, state regulations, abuse reporting requirements, court orders and Wellspring policies.
  • Ensure the residence remains compliant with all safety protocols.
  • Provide wound care as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and updates of individual support plans by sharing observations and insights.
  • Purchase food and supplies as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and healthy living environment.
  • Manage and update a master calendar of appointments, activities and meetings.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in required trainings and continuing education.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation (required).
  • Willingness / ability to transport clients as needed (required).
  • Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities (preferred).
  • Experience providing in-home or personal care support (preferred).
  • CNA licensure (preferred - not required).
  • Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation (required).
