Job description

Apex Placement & Consulting has partnered with an exciting print manufacturing organization seeking a motivated and dependable Mailing Data Specialist to join their team in Taylor, MI. In this role, you will prepare customer mailing lists, process variable data files, maximize postal discounts, and ensure mailing projects are completed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Process customer mailing lists for direct mail campaigns.
  2. Clean, standardize, deduplicate, and validate mailing databases.
  3. Perform NCOA, CASS, presort, and postal optimization processes.
  4. Prepare variable data files for digital printing and personalization.
  5. Create and manage mail merge and variable data projects.
  6. Coordinate with production, customer service, and USPS representatives.
  7. Analyze mailing data to ensure eligibility for postal discounts.
  8. Generate mailing documentation, reports, and postal paperwork.
  9. Troubleshoot data-related issues and ensure mailing accuracy.
  10. Maintain customer data confidentiality and security standards.
 
Qualifications:
  1. Excellent skill level in Microsoft Office products.
  2. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, lookups, pivot tables, and data manipulation.
  3. Ability to create and manage Word Mail Merge projects.
  4. Strong typing and keyboarding skills.
  5. High overall computer proficiency and ability to learn new software platforms.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Experience with mailing software, postal regulations, NCOA, CASS, or presort software is preferred but not required.
  9. Experience in direct mail, data processing, print/mail operations, or database management is a plus.
