ABOUT US

For more than 100 years, Rockhurst High School has been a place where boys become young men, with minds, bodies and souls prepared for the challenges of college and life beyond. Rockhurst challenges students with a rigorous academic program in the classical Jesuit tradition.

PURPOSE

The Annual Fund Manager at Rockhurst High School is responsible for developing and executing multi-channel fundraising strategies, including direct mail, email appeals, online giving campaigns, and giving days targeting different constituent groups within the Rockhurst community. This role works collaboratively with the Philanthropy and Engagement team and reports directly to the Vice President of Philanthropy and Engagement.

The Annual Fund Manager position is a full-time, exempt-level position.


Primary Responsibilities

Campaign Strategy

  • Lead and manage all Annual Fund(Eyrie Fund) efforts to increase donor participation and overall fundraising revenue.
  • Serve as point person for Annual Fund(Eyrie Fund) mailers, including planning, content coordination, timelines, and execution.
  • Track fundraising progress against financial targets, analyze donor retention, segment audiences for targeted appeals, and ensure data integrity within donor databases (e.g., Raiser's Edge).
  • Help create mission compelling appeal letters, impact reports, and acknowledgment templates to ensure donors feel appreciated and informed.
  • Recruit, train, and manage fundraising volunteers, committee members, alumni board members, and class captains to assist with peer-to-peer outreach.
  • Coordinate and lead Giving Tuesday strategy and implementation.
  • Assist with grant efforts in partnership with an external grant consultant.
  • Organize and support advancement and cultivation visits in 13–15 cities annually.
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy and Engagement team on campaign priorities and fundraising initiatives.

Portfolio Management

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 50 donors and prospects.
  • Complete a targeted number of donor proposals annually, including gifts at the:
    • $1,000 level
    • $5,000 level
    • $10,000 level
  • Conduct a defined number of donor visits, qualification meetings, and stewardship touches annually.
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with alumni, parents, and friends of the school.
  • Assist with donor stewardship, acknowledgment, and engagement strategies.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and activity tracking within the CRM/database system.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Proficiency in Raiser's Edge or similar fundraising database preferred.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data analysis/reporting tools.
  • Experience with Zoom or other virtual meeting platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the proven ability to build and maintain relationships with multiple constituencies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in donor relations and annual giving campaigns.
  • Experience working in an educational or faith-based environment.
  • Project management experience overseeing multiple fundraising initiatives simultaneously.
