Inkjet Web Press Operator

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Inkjet Web Press Operator to join our production team. This position is responsible for operating high-speed continuous-feed digital inkjet presses to produce high-quality direct mail, transactional, and commercial print products. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced production environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality, efficiency, and safety.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor continuous-feed digital inkjet web presses to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Perform machine setup, job changeovers, and production adjustments.
  • Monitor print quality throughout production and make necessary adjustments to ensure color, registration, and image quality meet specifications.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and print quality issues while minimizing downtime.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and cleaning on equipment.
  • Load paper rolls, inks, and other production materials safely and efficiently.
  • Accurately complete production paperwork and maintain production records.
  • Work closely with finishing, mailing, and quality departments to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Assist with training team members as needed and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Equipment Experience

Experience operating one or more of the following is preferred:

  • Ricoh Pro VC Series
  • Kodak Prosper
  • Xerox Rialto
  • Océ ColorStream
  • Comparable continuous-feed digital inkjet web presses

Experience with finishing equipment such as Tecnau, MBO, cutters, stackers, or mailing equipment is considered a plus.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating continuous-feed digital inkjet web presses preferred.
  • Experience in direct mail, transactional printing, commercial printing, or high-volume production environments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple production demands.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
