Associate Attorney - Litigation

Associate Attorney - Civil Litigation

Seattle, WA

An established Seattle litigation practice is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex civil litigation matters, take an active role in case strategy, and gain substantial courtroom and client-facing experience.

We are looking for a motivated attorney who is ready to take ownership of cases, collaborate with experienced litigators, and deliver exceptional service to clients.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the litigation team, you will:

  • Manage civil litigation matters through all phases of the case lifecycle
  • Meet directly with clients to evaluate claims, discuss strategy, and provide legal guidance
  • Conduct factual investigations and legal research
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Handle written discovery and discovery-related disputes
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and third-party witnesses
  • Appear in court for hearings, motions, and case management proceedings
  • Participate in settlement discussions, mediation, and negotiations
  • Assist with and conduct trials, arbitrations, and evidentiary hearings as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience
  • Demonstrated experience with motion practice
  • Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills
  • Experience managing cases with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Active Washington State Bar membership, or eligibility for admission
