Description
Lawrence Trailer & Truck Equipment is seeking a skilled technician to install, maintain, and repair commercial truck bodies and equipment. This is a mechanical truck-equipment position involving hydraulics, 12-volt electrical systems, welding, and equipment installation.
Please Note - This is not a structural steel, ironwork, or production welding position.
Responsibilities
  • Install and repair service bodies, dump bodies, flatbeds, liftgates, cranes, snow equipment, and related accessories
  • Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical problems
  • Repair or replace pumps, cylinders, hoses, wiring, lighting, and equipment components
  • Perform MIG welding and light-to-moderate fabrication for installations and repairs
  • Read wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, service manuals, and installation instructions
  • Inspect completed work for proper operation, quality, and safety
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

Qualifications
  • Relevant experience with truck equipment, trailers, hydraulics, heavy equipment, fleet maintenance, automotive electrical systems, or a related mechanical field
  • Mechanical troubleshooting ability
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and 12-volt electrical systems
  • MIG welding experience
  • Ability to safely operate applicable hand, power, and shop tools
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to perform the position's essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 75 pounds and working in, around, and underneath vehicles
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
