Position OverviewThe Dining Room Supervisor oversees the daily front-of-house dining operations while ensuring exceptional service for our residents and guests. This position provides leadership, coaching, and support to dining room staff, promotes a positive team environment, and helps maintain the highest standards of customer service, cleanliness, and safety. The Dining Room Supervisor leads by example and actively participates in daily dining room operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate dining room staff.
Create daily assignments and ensure adequate staffing for each meal service.
Monitor dining room operations to ensure efficient, timely, and courteous service.
Foster a positive dining experience by addressing resident concerns promptly and professionally.
Review communication logs, meal reservations, and special requests before each meal service.
Coordinate with the kitchen regarding special diets, resident preferences, and special events.
Assist with table setup, food service, tray service, bussing, and cleanup as needed.
Ensure dining rooms, serving stations, and equipment remain clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
Monitor proper use and maintenance of dining room equipment and supplies.
Communicate resident concerns, incidents, or changes in condition to the nursing team as appropriate.
Promote teamwork, professionalism, and excellent customer service among all staff.
Assist with new employee orientation and ongoing staff training.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Services Director or Administrator.
QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred
2+ year experience in food service or hospitality; leadership/mentoring experience required
Food Handlerโs Permit required
Strong leadership, conflict resolution, multitasking, and communication skills
Physical Requirements- Lift up to 50 lbs; push 250 lb carts or residents
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, and perform repetitive arm/hand motions
