FULL AND PART TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE

JOB SUMMARY

The Dining Room Supervisor assists the Assistant Culinary & Dining Director in all aspects of floor management, including ย food, beverage, equipment, and property to facilitate the fulfillment of financial goals and Village On The Isle initiatives. In addition, the Dining Room Supervisor assists in cultivating a team environment that provides exceptional residents service while ensuring all staff members perform at a consistently high level. The Dining Room Supervisor also works towards motivating employees, instilling accountability, and achieving results to drive success in the position. The Dining Room Supervisor respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors, colleagues and staff. This is a safety sensitive position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

It is understood that every incidental duty connected with operations listed in the job description is not always specifically described, and that employees, at the discretion of management, may be required to perform duties not within their job descriptions.   • Receives direction from the Assistant Culinary & Dining Directorย and assists in the overall management of the unitโ€™s operations. Assists in planning and developing daily operations. Assists in scheduling, supervising, and participating in the operational duties specific to the unit.
  • Schedules daily work assignments for all dining room personnel, assigning specific jobs and spot checking to ensure standards are met.
  • Assists in recruiting, supervising, training, scheduling, disciplining, reviewing, and directing the dining room staff.
  • Responds to residentsโ€™ inquiries and resolves residentsโ€™ complaints.
  • Maintains and ensures safe facility environment including standards for maintenance and upkeep of dining room area and wait stations, food production and handling, cooking, housekeeping, sanitation, dress, cash control, and employee hygiene. Notifies Director of Dining & Culinary Services of all unusual events, circumstances, or other safety or quality control issues.
  • Represents Village On The Isle in a professional and positive manner at all times. Maintains and enhances VOTIโ€™s image when interacting with residents, guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Ensures all opening and closing duties have been done correctly.ย  In charge of post shift walkthrough to make sure the dining room is organized, and duties have been completed.
  • Assists with event setup, service, and breakdown.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

The essential mental and physical functions listed below are required in order for an employee to be able to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
  • Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for the entire work day and to climb steps regularly.
  • Withstanding temperature extremes in freezer, refrigerator walk-in and grill areas.
  • Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of residents and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
  • Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in fast-paced environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is conducted primarily in health care facility. There is possible exposure to communicable diseases and blood and body fluids that may contain HIV and/or HBV. This position frequently requires working within strict deadlines, under stressful conditions and with a variety of personalities, who may at times be emotional.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma/GED required. Associate's degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Food Safety Certified a plus.
  • Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to effectively organize and coordinate multiple priorities; ability to work well as a team leader; ability to problem solve.
  • Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist residents and coworkers.
