  • Digital Learning Specialist- Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Collaborates with teachers in utilizing effective technology within their content-based lessons and supports the teacher as they implement the lessons in their classrooms.
  2. Promotes model instructional practices and the role of digital learning in them.
  3. Articulates appropriate digital learning practices as described in technology standards for students and teachers.
  4. Provides assistance and training to instructional staff in the integration of technology to support student achievement. This includes planning and implementing job-embedded professional development and workshops for individuals, small groups, and large groups. Collaborates in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of digital technology materials and software within the curriculum.
  5. Assists with digital training as part of collaborative school district staff development initiatives and supports regional and statewide initiatives such as Common Core, and the STEM standards for teachers and students.
  6. Conducts research about advancements in digital tools and resources to inform decision-making.
  7. Provides support for district lead projects and provides expertise in district-provided instructional tools to ensure the successful implementation of the district-adopted curriculum and resources.
  8. Participates in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintains expertise in the field.
  9. Provides new staff with ongoing support.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  1. Demonstrate knowledge of the Common Core Standards, STEM, and best practice instructional strategies.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of the process and strategies used in implementing digital instructional plans.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of new computer, video, communication, web-based technologies, curriculum design, and working knowledge of instructional design and assessments.
  4. Effectively educate/mentor digital users.
  5. Demonstrate ability to design and deliver enhanced instruction digitally.
  • Education and Experience

Required
  1. Bachelor's degree in education or related field
  2. Current New Mexico teaching license
  3. Able to pass employment verification.
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
    Preferred
  5. Graduate degree or other advanced education in Instructional and/or Assistive Technology
  6. A minimum of three year's experience as a classroom teacher
  7. Two years professional development experience in educating teachers or other adults in the integration of technology for instruction and productivity using all the following modes:
    1. modeling,
    2. one-on-one,
    3. small group/ large group
  8. A minimum of two years of experience delivering and integrating technology in instructional programs for Pre-K - 12th grade students is preferred.
