Digitization Assistant information

What are some common challenges faced by a digitization assistant, and how can they be addressed?

Digitization Assistants often encounter challenges such as handling fragile or deteriorating documents, maintaining accuracy during data entry, and managing large volumes of files efficiently. To address these, it's important to follow established preservation guidelines, double-check digital records for errors, and utilize organizational tools or software for workflow management. Collaborating closely with archivists, librarians, and IT staff also helps ensure that digitization projects run smoothly and that digital assets are securely stored and easily accessible.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a digitization assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Digitization Assistant, you need attention to detail, organizational skills, and a basic understanding of archival or library practices, often supported by a high school diploma or relevant coursework. Familiarity with digitization hardware (such as scanners), image editing software, and digital asset management systems is typically required. Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities help you collaborate effectively and manage multiple projects. These skills ensure the accurate preservation, cataloging, and accessibility of digital records, which are essential for supporting organizational information needs.

The Margin Client Services team is the primary interface for our clients utilizing the industry-standard platform for automated collateral management. As an Analyst, you will support clients in streamlining their margin workflows, ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards (such as UMR), and managing the movement of collateral. You will work at the intersection of credit risk, liquidity management, and technology, collaborating closely with product, development, and sales teams globally.
Responsibilities and impact:
  • Collateral Workflow Management: Provide daily support to subscribers on end-to-end margin call workflows, including Variation Margin (VM) and Initial Margin (IM).
  • Dispute Advocacy: Assist clients in identifying the root causes of margin disputes by bridging the gap between portfolio breaks and collateralized exposure.
  • Agreement Digitization: Assist in the onboarding and "digitization" of Legal Agreements (CSAs, MCAs, and ACAs) to ensure automated calculation of thresholds, MTAs, and rounding.
  • Trade & Position Normalization: Handle complex data sets to ensure accurate calculation of Net Exposure and Required Margin within the TriResolve environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Actively monitor and educate clients on evolving market regulations (EMIR, Dodd-Frank, and UMR Phases) and their impact on collateral requirements.
  • Product Evolution: Collaborate with Product Management and Developers to provide feedback on margin-specific features, such as Optimization, Interest Processing, and Inventory Management.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in UAT testing for new platform functionalities, ensuring the tool remains the market leader in collateral automation.

What we're looking for:
Fundamental requirement:
  • Collateral Proficiency: Understanding of the margin call lifecycle, including issuance, pledge acceptance, a settlement.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in using text editors and advanced spreadsheet functions to interpret trade valuations and collateral eligibility lists.
  • Client Relationship Skills: Ability to manage high-pressure situations, such as resolving time-sensitive margin disputes or settlement failures.
  • Operational Agility: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where market volatility can lead to sudden spikes in margin call volumes.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written English skills; the ability to explain complex financial movements to both back-office operations and front-office risk managers.

Additional preferred requirements:
  • Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of OTC Derivatives and the trade lifecycle, specifically regarding how trade economics drive collateral movements.
  • Regulatory Literacy: Familiarity with Uncleared Margin Rules (UMR) and the operational requirements for exchanging Initial Margin (IM).
  • Legal Familiarity: A basic understanding of ISDA/CSA documentation and how various parameters (rounding, thresholds, currency haircuts) affect margin calculations.
  • Technical Interest: A keen interest in Fintech and the automation of legacy manual processes through SaaS solutions.

The location: New York, USA
