Reports To: Program Manager Position Summary RPI Group is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Network Engineer to support secure, mission-critical networking and cybersecurity operations within a DoD environment. This role focuses on the administration, security, and modernization of network infrastructure supporting Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Operational Technology (OT), and enterprise systems operating on the MCEN-N at CLNC. The ideal candidate will work hands-on with Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco switching infrastructure, Linux systems, RF/LTE technologies, IPSec architectures, and OT-connected devices in dynamic operational environments. This position offers the opportunity to apply modern cybersecurity and IT networking principles to evolving OT environments where security, reliability, and innovation are increasingly critical to mission success. Key Responsibilities Network Engineering & Security
- Configure Raspberry Pis, Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewalls, RF/LTE radios, and related network devices within IPSec hub-and-spoke architectures.
- Implement, administer, and troubleshoot firewalls, routers, switches, wireless infrastructure devices, and LAN/WAN environments.
- Configure, document, and maintain routers, switches, VLANs, IPSec tunnels, and secure network communications.
- Design, configure, and test networking hardware, software, Linux hosts, and operating systems.
- Apply cybersecurity best practices to traditional IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Implement and document DISA STIG compliance requirements.
- Manage certificates and secure communications within PKI environments.
- Support and secure ICS/OT-connected infrastructure in evolving mission environments.
- Utilize knowledge of TCP/IP, network infrastructure, application transport protocols, and Unix/Windows network administration. Operations & Troubleshooting
- Maintain and administer network infrastructure, systems software, hardware, and configurations in secure DoD environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues.
- Replace faulty network hardware components as needed.
- Analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
- Maintain a strong understanding of network infrastructure, hardware, and security technologies. Documentation & Collaboration
- Create and maintain accurate network diagrams, system documentation, and technical procedures.
- Quickly learn and apply new technologies using technical documentation and online resources.
- Contribute technical ideas and process improvements within evolving operational environments.
- Work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience operating and maintaining networks in DoD environments.
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, IPSec technologies, and enterprise network infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, routing, switching, and network security principles.
- Active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain clearance eligibility.
= Active DoD 8570/8140 compliant IAT Level II certification or higher required (e.g., Security+, CCNA). Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting USMC and/or CLJN networks.
- Experience with SCADA, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), or Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Experience with RF and LTE technologies.
- Experience configuring and maintaining DigiTech routers.
