Large Wholesale Format Printing company located in Mandeville, LA is hiring for a full time Pre-Press / Graphic Designer. Position will work to prepare and manage electronic art files from customers. Graphic Artist will set up and/or adjust art files to be approved by customers. The position will work directly with Customer Service Reps and Production Manager to assure all art files are submitted to production accurately.
  • Execute electronic art separations to customer-supplied artwork following internal job tickets while adhering to printer specifications for all print types and materials.
  • Color correct and adjust files to match supplied color targets.
  • Send files to internal printer software's for production.
  • Manage multiple jobs in various production stages.
  • Work with Customer Service Reps and Production Manager to gain understanding of customer's expectations and file requirements.
  • Detect any anomalies concerning the files and alert the customers.
  • Operate the workstation utilizing , Adobe Creative Cloud, Esko applications, AGFA and Digitech.
  • Adjust prepress setup based on special finishing requirements.
  • Support production team to troubleshoot printing issues.
  • Create and distribute electronic proofs & hard color proofs.
  • Participate in creation and updating of department work instructions.
  • Maintain organization on servers, job folders and databases.
  • Assist with external communication and file transfers.
  • Complete required documentation in an accurate and prompt manner.
  • Perform self-checks and proofread work by other team members in accordance to operating procedures prior to releasing proofs.
  • Comply with established facility safety policies and procedures and other regulations as applicable.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn new technology including new/upgraded software and hardware.
  • Understanding color theory and color correction.
  • Must be detail oriented, well organized, and take pride in delivering quality work.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to problem-solve and work with minimal supervision.
  • 40+ hours per week
