The Opportunity:

At Brkthru, technology drives how we connect, collaborate and grow. This internship offers a chance to see how that happens from the inside. As an IT Intern, youโ€™ll support a variety of projects that keep our systems running efficiently and securely. Youโ€™ll help document key processes, assist with the rollout of new tools like Confluence, and contribute to projects that improve how our teams work across platforms. This internship is a great opportunity to apply your technical knowledge in a professional setting while learning how IT supports a fast-paced, people-centered business.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Provide first-level support by reviewing alerts, troubleshooting HelpDesk tickets, and fielding end-user questions.
  • Support the rollout of Confluence, including creating and organizing content, building knowledge base articles, granting user access, and assisting team members as they adopt the system.
  • Assist with system organization and documentation, including updating legacy data, auditing shared files, and maintaining IT process and policy records.
  • Contribute to communications and training materials for system updates, AI tools like Copilot, and transitions between platforms such as Google Docs and Microsoft 365.
  • Help gather and organize technical specs, analytics, and AI use cases to support collaboration with managed service providers and ongoing process improvement projects.

What Youโ€™ll Gain:

  • Hands-on experience supporting IT operations in a modern, cloud-based business environment.
  • Opportunities to strengthen your troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Mentorship from experienced professionals who value curiosity, problem-solving, and learning by doing.
  • A clearer understanding of how IT supports organizational efficiency, collaboration, and growth in a fast-paced company, reinforced through structured learning and a capstone project.

Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field as a Junior or Senior level student.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic troubleshooting and technical support knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
  • Based in Michigan and able to report to the office in Southfield, MI at minimum for the following events: your first day, during scheduled offsites to assist with AV and employee laptop help in-person, for your final capstone presentation, and your last day.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Confluence, Microsoft 365, or Google Workspace.
  • Ability to dedicate 20 hours per week on at least 4 days per week.
  • Ability to work in the office once per week.

Other Details:

This is a paid internship compensated at an hourly rate of $13.73/hour. Interns may work up to 20 hours per week, with a typical schedule averaging 15โ€“20 hours per week, depending on workload and individual availability.

This is a Summer 2026 Internship opportunity starting in September 2026 and ending in December 2026.

Brkthru operates as a fully remote company with in-person collaboration that varies by role. We uphold the expectation that all team members maintain a dedicated and reliable workspace, free from distractions, to ensure optimal productivity. For this role, we anticipate some in-person collaboration if possible and the candidateโ€™s physical location and schedule allows.

Brkthru Hiring and AI Usage

Brkthru welcomes candidates to use AI tools for proofreading or strengthening their resume, but submitting AI-generated cover letters, resumes, or work samples that do not accurately represent a candidateโ€™s skills will be considered a red flag. The use of AI-powered 'whispering bots' or real-time answer-generation apps during live interviews is strictly prohibited.

Our ATS does not leverage AI resume screening to filter candidates. All applications are reviewed by a human. Brkthru may use artificial intelligence (AI) and automated tools to assist in the hiring process, however, all hiring decisions are made by people.
