Job description

WTAE-TV, Hearst Television's ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, is seeking a strategic Digital Sales Manager to drive digital and cross-platform revenue growth. This role leads the integration of digital, streaming, and linear solutions into a unified sales strategy, helping position the station as a leader in a rapidly evolving media landscape.

The Digital Sales Manager partners closely with Account Executives and sales leadership to develop data-driven, insight-led campaigns that deliver results for advertisers. This role also serves as a subject matter expert on digital, advanced advertising, and emerging technologies - including AI-enabled tools-helping to modernize sales approaches and unlock new revenue opportunities. This is an in-person position reporting to the General Sales Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Strategy

  • Develop and execute cross-platform advertising strategies across linear, streaming, and digital channels

  • Leverage data, analytics, and AI-driven insights to optimize targeting, campaign performance, and revenue outcomes

  • Partner with station leadership to drive measurable growth in total and digital revenue

Sales Leadership

  • Train and coach Account Executives on digital, integrated, and AI-enabled sales strategies

  • Support high-value proposals, new business development, and complex client opportunities

  • Serve as the station's expert on digital, CTV/OTT, programmatic, and emerging ad technologies

Inventory & Campaign Management

  • Oversee digital and streaming inventory, forecasting, and pricing strategy

  • Monitor campaign pacing and delivery, using data and AI tools to optimize performance and ensure fulfillment

Market Development

  • Identify and lead new revenue opportunities across digital, streaming, and advanced advertising products

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agencies, advertisers, and technology partners

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, including advancements in AI, data targeting, and ad tech

Operational Oversight

  • Review and guide digital proposals and RFP responses with a strategic, data-informed approach

  • Ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and alignment across platforms

  • Help lead the evolution of the sales organization toward a more data-driven and digitally focused model

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in broadcast, media, or multi-platform sales environments preferred

  • Strong understanding of digital advertising, including CTV/OTT, programmatic, and audience-based buying

  • Familiarity with AI tools and data analytics platforms, and their application in sales strategy and campaign optimization

  • Proven ability to develop and execute integrated, cross-platform marketing solutions

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable sales strategies

  • Track record of driving revenue growth and developing new business opportunities

  • Experience coaching and leading sales professionals in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with tools such as Google Analytics, CRM systems, or ad management platforms preferred

  • Familiarity with digital content strategy and performance measurement

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

  • Related military experience will be considered
