Job description

Position Title:

Director, Enterprise Risk Management

Location:

Dallas, TX - Hybrid

Your Role

The Director of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) plays a critical leadership role in advancing Digital Realty's global risk strategy. Partnering closely with the VP of Risk Management & Insurance and senior leadership, this role helps shape enterprisewide risk and resilience strategies and leads the execution of those strategies across the organization.

You will drive the maturity of the ERM framework, enhance risk visibility, and strengthen strategic decisionmaking that aligns with Digital Realty's longterm business goals. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, exceptional collaboration skills, and the proven ability to influence leaders across a global organization.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the implementation of enterprise risk strategies in partnership with operational and executive leadership.
  • Enhance and operationalize Digital Realty's ERM framework and methodology, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Oversee the annual enterprise risk cycle, including identification, assessment, prioritization, and risk response planning.
  • Maintain a comprehensive risk taxonomy spanning strategic, operational, technology, financial, regulatory, and ESG-related risks.
  • Co-develop governance and reporting strategies and deliver ERM reporting to senior leadership, the Audit Committee, and the Board.
  • Support the development and maintenance of KRIs, KPIs, and risk analytics aligned with risk appetite and performance targets.
  • Drive consistency and quality in operational risk assessments across global teams.
  • Partner with Internal Audit, Legal, Compliance, ESG, and Information Security to strengthen governance and oversight.
  • Prepare materials and minutes for quarterly Executive Risk & Compliance Committee meetings.
  • Advise business units on risk mitigation strategies and lead execution of action plans.
  • Facilitate risk workshops, scenario planning sessions, and strategic risk discussions.
  • Co-develop and execute long term ERM and resilience roadmaps and enhance tools, processes, policies, and training.
  • Monitor emerging risks, regulatory changes, and industry trends relevant to digital infrastructure.
  • Promote a risk aware culture through education and stakeholder engagement.
  • Evaluate and implement risk technology solutions to support automation, analytics, and reporting.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in ERM, operational risk, or a related discipline.
  • Experience developing and maturing enterprise risk strategies in large, complex global organizations.
  • Hands on experience using ERM/GRC software for risk assessment programs; ServiceNow experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to develop executive  and board level reports.
  • Strong knowledge of ERM frameworks (COSO, ISO 31000).
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and executive reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated influence and collaboration capabilities across all levels, including executives and global stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and structured problem solving abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in data centers, technology infrastructure, cloud, telecommunications, or real estate.
  • Professional certifications (CRM, ARM, CRMP, CERA, CPA, CIA).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST), business continuity standards, and ESG risk concepts.
