Job description

Job Objective: The 360 Life Center Director will leverage the full potential of The Salvation Army in Leavenworth, Kansas, and Leavenworth County to positively impact residents for "Christ-centered care for every dimension of life" (ministering both practically and spiritually, especially those impacted by poverty.) This will be done by building a 360 Life Center team that engages community partners through inspired collaborations. This person will lead every aspect of the 360 Team and communicate The Salvation Army story to the community of Leavenworth County.

Essential Functions:

  • Actively engage in the community to have knowledge of ongoing needs
  • Develop new programs and enhance existing programs in response to ongoing community needs
  • Prepare and give presentations representing the community and The Salvation Army's needs and communicate The Salvation Army's story in Leavenworth County
  • Analyze the effectiveness of all programs ensuring that programs comply with our mission and client needs
  • Develop and manage program policies and performance accountability measures, including United Way outcomes and social service standards
  • Network and collaborate with other community partners and agencies
  • Coordinate and supervise assigned seasonal programs
  • Manage all grants and contracts: research, process, and monitor compliance
  • Manage area development and fundraising activities as assigned, including all Christmas fundraising, bell ringing, and PR/Marketing activities
  • Partner with Service Extension leadership and Divisional Headquarters Development staff on development and fundraising activities as assigned
  • Provide direct services to clients when necessary, including Pathway of Hope casework, emergency services, seasonal assistance, pastoral care, and outreach
  • Deepen and refine all aspects of communications - from digital presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand
  • Expand the 360 Life Center vision and impact of The Salvation Army throughout the region
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere through appropriate conflict management, courteous demeanor, and professional and appropriate communication practices
  • Maintain compliance with The Salvation Army's Safe from Harm program
  • Plan, coordinate, instruct, supervise and evaluate the work performance of staff
  • Conduct regular Advisory Council, staff meetings, and in-service training
  • Uphold a spiritual expression of The Salvation Army through Bible Studies, Live Stream services, and Disaster Service Emotional and Spiritual Care Teams and constantly look for new ways to share the gospel and ministry of The Salvation Army
  • Ensure the generation and delivery of monthly statistical and in-kind donation reports
  • Develop, submit to Service Extension leadership for approval and manage the annual budget
  • Work with Divisional Headquarters Property Specialist to maintain the building and property at acceptable standards of safety and health
  • Publicly represent The Salvation Army to current and potential partners such that the big-picture impact of The Salvation Army is clearly translated
  • Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to, processing bills, payments, and payroll
  • Perform other duties as assigned as related to this position

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred; relevant experience, as determined by The Salvation Army, may be considered instead of education requirement.

Experience: Proven experience in social services, marketing, and development; minimum of three years' experience supervising, developing, training staff, and building teams; experience managing grants and budgets

Supervisory Responsibility: Unit staff and volunteers

Physical Requirements: Include speaking, hearing, vision; manual dexterity; bending, squatting, and walking; standing for extended periods of time; sitting for extended periods of time; lifting, pulling, and pushing materials up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.

Travel: None

Driving: Driving is required; Must possess a valid driver's license from the state of residence; must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle for Salvation Army business.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a typical office setting; some evening and weekend work may be required
