Description
Position Title: Production Coordinator
Department: Operations
FLSA: Salary, Exempt
Reports To: Production Manager/Branch Manager
POSITION SUMMARY/OBEJECTIVE:
Performs a variety of Operational functions to ensure the productivity, quality, training, and safety associated with the company's assets and resources remain in compliance with Federal and State regulations-in addition to the company's own policies.
Manages the entire production floor of Super Color Digital's facility. Responsible for accepting/rejecting wok orders and ensures that the accepted work orders are completed in an accurate, safe, and most efficient way possible.
This person will generate reports, hold regularly scheduled meetings to address the workload, and resolve issues that periodically arise from the production floor.
The Production Coordinator will ensure that each department has checked the products in process are aligns to the requested specifications of the work orders with input from the departments leads during the production meeting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manage the operation of the entire production floor.
  • Maintain production quality.
  • Request the purchase of necessary materials for production staff.
  • Routinely check every department for safety, effectiveness, and additional recognized problems and or concerns the production department may be experiencing.
  • Monitor and guide Pre-Press/Digital department workflow from inception through the handoff to the shop floor.
  • Approve jobs and stage them with computer software.
  • Schedule all production staff accordingly to ensure that all shifts are covered and allow for all fast track and excess production needs.
  • Assure that each department continues to meet the standards and quality expected by Super Color Digital and its customers.
  • Facilitate production meetings and be ready to provide advice and status of open work orders.
  • Create spreadsheets and documents that describe the stash of work orders and procedures used on the machines.
  • Adhere to scheduled timelines for all scheduled shipments.
  • Create and provide daily Production reports to the direct supervisor
  • Maintain "lockdown" protocols for secured graphic projects
  • Assist with employee performance via verbal and written counseling-in addition to regularly scheduled performance evaluations.
  • Accountable for guiding daily requirements and scheduling of all shifts
  • Train personnel on operating procedures with the ability to lead, coach, and inspire team members to excel and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate frequently with the direct supervisor and implement decisions through department leads.

Experience and Skills Requires:
  • 5+ years in the graphics industry
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in production management
  • Lean Manufacturing, TQM, and/or Six Sigma training technical certification-or equivalent experience preferred
  • Must be a visionary who is always seeking new and innovative processes
  • Must be available during "off" hours via the company cell phone
  • Works with a keen sense of urgency, and highly time conscientious
  • Possess common sense
  • Ability to manage failures and crisis in a calm manner
  • Ability to recommend and implement solutions to address productions problems
  • Energized and ready to grow within Super Color Digital
  • Must lead by example
  • Understands OSHA compliance, industrial safety, ad MSDS
  • Must have strong people skills, and possess the ability to motivate ad promote teamwork
  • Meticulous attention to detail-in addition to effective planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to plan for and implement improvements
  • Willingness to learn new and emerging technologies
  • Ability to resolve problems, document all issues, and implement best practices to mitigate future problems
  • Firm grasp of understanding related to computer and printing terminology
