Job description

As a CPI Production Associate, you will work on tasks that may include assisting operators with loading and unloading materials.
If you've ever wondered what owning your own business is like, just ask an Employee Owner of Chatsworth Products (CPI). Better yet, become one! CPI has an immediate need for a Production Associate in CPI's Georgetown, Texas location.
As a CPI Production Assoicate, you will occupy a key role in working with and for a company that builds the physical infrastructure that powers, protects, and secures the world's digital technology. Day to day, you will perform tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort. Loads and unloads materials, parts, or products manually or by mechanized means. Assists the production operators. Moves and transports raw materials and finished product. May assist the operators with loading machines and positioning the work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Under minimal supervision, hangs fabricated parts on the conveyor paint line to engineering specifications, and prepares parts for painting. Removes parts from the line once painted.
  2. Removes any debris from parts prior to hanging.
  3. Determines best practice hanging methods to maximize paint quality and load density.
  4. Inspects hooks for burn off lifecycles.
  5. Inspects and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements, including but not limited to all guarding. Corrects any safety issues prior to operating the equipment.
  6. Inspects coated items for paint coverage and tests for coating thickness.
  7. Performs some washer preventive maintenance tasks.
  8. Cleans and maintains work area and equipment.
  9. Assists and trains others to hang parts on the paint line.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Continuously maintains a clean work area. Disposes of trash and production scrap. Assists in cleaning common areas.
  2. Performs other related duties, as assigned by management.

Technical Competencies:
  • A minimum of one (1) year of related experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering specifications to properly select parts.
  • Capable of using measuring devices as required for product inspection.
  • Good mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
  • Good troubleshooting skills such that, after a reasonable training period, the employee will be able to evaluate operational problems of the equipment and know the proper corrective actions.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals.
  • Available and willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as production demand dictates.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Frequent standing, walking, carrying, lifting, stooping, and crouching.
  • Work with fabricated metal parts, powder coated materials and cleaning chemicals.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs.
