Job Title: Production Associate

Job Description

Join a small, clean, and family-oriented warehouse team where you will focus on building and preparing orders for shipment. You will construct custom wooden shipping frames, handle large and sometimes oversized parts, and support a light picking and packing operation for smaller replacement parts and kits. This role suits someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on work, using tools, and contributing to a collaborative, laid-back environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret order sheets and work instructions to understand order requirements and build plans.
  • Build wooden shipping frames using 2x4s, hand tools, and power tools to create secure structures for large parts.
  • Handle and move large components such as tall cages, posts, and spare parts by hand and with appropriate equipment.
  • Use grinders, chop saws, and other cutting tools to trim products to the correct length as specified in the order.
  • Secure and wrap orders for shipment, including wrapping posts and components so they remain stable within the shipping frame.
  • Move completed orders to the designated shipping area in an organized and safe manner.
  • Support the picking and packing operation for small replacement parts and kits by pushing a cart to locations, scanning locations, picking items, packing boxes, labeling, and preparing them for shipment.
  • Follow established warehouse processes for inventory handling, order accuracy, and documentation.
  • Use basic computer skills and, where applicable, Microsoft Office or ERP systems to reference orders, update status, or complete simple data entry tasks.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated experience using hand tools and power tools in a work environment.
  • Previous experience working in a production or warehouse environment.
  • Experience working from order sheets, work instructions, or similar documentation to complete tasks.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, wood, and metal components.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours per day and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, and handling large parts.
  • Basic computer skills sufficient to follow digital work orders, scan items, or perform simple data entry.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment correctly.
  • Comfort working with general labor, assembly, and production tasks in a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a small team in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Steel-toe or composite safety shoes, with willingness to wear gloves when using tools.
  • No formal education requirements, with a focus on practical skills and reliability.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications is an asset.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems or warehouse management systems is a plus.

Why Work Here?

You will join a small, very new facility that offers a clean, friendly, and family-style atmosphere with only a few people working in the back, making it easy to get to know your coworkers and feel part of the team. The organization encourages a growth mindset and is investing in expanding operations, creating opportunities for long-term employment and development as the site grows into manufacturing. Team members enjoy occasional incentive-based catered lunches, a typically laid-back environment, and a clear path from learning the basics to becoming a long-term part of the operation. Competitive benefits include a comprehensive health benefits package, an employer-sponsored 401(k) retirement plan, generous vacation accrual that increases with tenure, annual vacation days as part of the employment agreement, sick time available from the start, personal days, and eleven paid holidays each year.
