Digital Platform Consultant (Pre-Sales - Retirement Services)

The Digital Platform Consultant (Pre-Sales - Retirement Services) position is a highly visible role within Voya's Retirement technology organization that expertly supports the business development and relationship management teams across all market segments in demonstrating Voya's customer-facing, award-winning digital technology properties.

This role functions similarly to a Solutions Consultant or Pre-Sales Consultant within financial services, partnering closely with sales teams to deliver client-facing digital platform demonstrations in support of new business and client engagements.

As a key member of the sales pursuit process, this individual plays a critical role in finalist presentations and client meetings, translating Voya's digital capabilities into clear, compelling business value for plan sponsors, advisors, and consultants.

The Digital Technology Consultant also works as a digital technology subject matter expert for internal business partners and external clients alike and collaborates with Voya's digital product owners to stay well-informed about industry trends, market demands, regulatory changes, and offers guidance and thought leadership with the technology roadmap.

A successful Digital Technology Consultant is a high-performing professional who has a natural affinity and passion for retirement products and digital technology, is comfortable in presentation and presales environments, a team player and client-driven, and excels with a high degree of accountability.

This is a highly interactive, client-facing role that requires confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and the ability to tell a compelling story using digital technology solutions in a sales-driven environment. This is not a quota-carrying sales role, but a critical partner to the sales process and client engagement lifecycle.

This role focuses exclusively on the contributions noted below with no programming or software development tasks required or expected.

This position is primarily remote, with flexibility to work from home or from one of our major office locations using a hybrid schedule. The role requires regular client-facing travel (approximately 25% on average), including a mix of day trips and overnight stays based on sales activity.

The Contributions You'll Make:

  • Manages, develops, and leads detailed demonstrations of Voya's digital technology solutions across all retirement market segments for plan sponsor clients/prospects and intermediary partners.
  • Serves as the highest-level digital technology expert and trusted resource at finals presentations, client review meetings, consultant due diligence meetings, and in other highly visible forums such as client and industry conferences.
  • Educates and informs our business partners and clients about how to gain most value from Voya's digital solutions. Carefully listens and responds confidently to objections and posed questions.
  • Provides day-to-day digital technology expertise during the sales process, including directly interfacing with Voya's sales and relationship management teams, clients, and intermediary partners.
  • Influences technology roadmap by skillfully gathering product insights and communicating customer feedback to digital product management teams.
  • Ensures that Voya's sales and relationship management teams are accurately and suitably supported, resulting in successfully closed deals.
  • Regularly collaborates with technology development team in support and ongoing maintenance of technology demo websites and mobile solutions.
  • Supports other digital technology assignments, as needed, in support of client engagements, solutioning, and best practice use of customer technology.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree, plus 5-7 years' experience working in retirement plan industry with related product knowledge.
  • Previous experience in a presales, technical consulting, or solutions engineering role with financial services organizations.
  • Advanced written and verbal communications skills, including hosting presentations and digital technology demonstrations in person and with virtual audiences.
  • Highly adept at managing technical meeting set up for in-person engagements.
  • Strategic thinking and technical proficiency skills, with basic technology platform understanding.
  • Self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving mindset.
  • Passionate ability to work well in a sales support environment, partnering with high-performing sales teams.
  • FINRA Series 6 license required, or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire into the position.
  • Ability to travel to on-site meetings (25% average; up to 50% during peak times). This includes overnight travel.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that's fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate's geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
