Job description

Role Summary

Free People is looking for a Digital Optimization Analyst who possess a balance of analytical skills and strategic curiosity, and is equally comfortable pulling data and thinking about how it translates to the customer experience.

This role plays an integral part in driving digital strategy by carrying out analyses and working closely with the larger Digital team and cross-functional partners to implement optimizations on the website and app that support customer acquisition and retention and drive topline brand growth. The Analyst will contribute to an environment of fact-based, data-driven decision-making within the Free People brand, leveraging URBN's rich first-party data to uncover global trends across marketing and ecommerce.

The Analytics team is part of the integrated Free People Digital Team which includes Marketing, Content, Consumer Insights and UX. We collaborate with a wide range of cross-functional teams and leadership across Free People and URBN to share action-oriented insights and drive the direct business.

Role Responsibilities
  • Partner with web content, creative and merchandising teams to translate site performance data into actionable recommendations that inform product strategy, content decisions and customer experience
  • Own analysis and ongoing monitoring of onsite features and content, personalization placements and browser journeys, surfacing insights that shape both editorial and algorithmic strategy
  • Support category, trend and content page analysis, identifying patterns in engagement and conversion to guide merch and content decisions
  • Contribute to the strategy, QA and performance analysis of FP's personalization program managed through Dynamic Yield, including audience segmentation and campaign and placement logic
  • Develop, maintain and distribute recurring reports that give cross-functional partners clear visibility into site performance and key KPIs
  • Analyze browser behavior and purchase patterns across Free People's site and app to understand customer mindset, identify patterns and friction points, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Assist in QA of onsite tagging and lead communication to flag and resolve issues
  • Turn quantitative insights into qualitative recommendations and distill data down to actionable opportunities through clear delivery and communication skills
Role Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field
  • Strong aptitude for reading and understanding quantitative data with curiosity about how users behave and what drives their decisions
  • At minimum two (2) years analyzing data and translating insights into stories with actionable recommendations, preferably in retail or ecommerce environment
  • Experience writing and executing queries in a database environment (SQL/SAS/R or similar)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong ability to juggle multiple priorities at once
  • Strong communication skills to champion data in a creative organization
  • Collaborative personality with the ability to also work independently
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented organization

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience using a data visualization tool (Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or similar)
  • Experience with digital analytics applications (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.) measuring site performance and engagement
  • Experience partnering with creative or merchandising teams in a data or insights capacity
  • Project management or cross-functional stakeholder coordination experience
