Job description

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver-The World's Most Experienced Driver™-to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo's fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.
On the Waymo Marketing team, you will help to connect people with the magic and impact of Waymo's autonomous driving technology. Our team has the unique opportunity to not only grow Waymo's brand from the ground up, but to also build societal acceptance for autonomous driving technology for the first time in history. We build thoughtful marketing strategy, positioning, messaging and creative assets to deliver messages that matter to our audience, communicated through anything from video content, to social media interactions, to immersive physical experiences. We also shape Waymo's go-to-market initiatives, helping to transform Waymo into a thriving business with a growing user base.
In this hybrid role, you will report to a Digital Media Lead.
You will:
  • Scale Paid Acquisition & Biddable Buying: Own and execute programmatic buying across DSPs (DV360, The Trade Desk, Amazon DSP), Google Ads (Search, PMax, YouTube, Display) and Apple Ads to drive performance growth.
  • Collaborate on Multi-Channel Brand & Agency Campaigns: Collaborate closely with Brand Marketing teams and external Agency Partners to plan, launch, and execute integrated multi-channel campaigns across CTV, Display, Digital Audio, and Video.
  • Build the Discipline 0-to-1 & Scale Internationally: Build out the in-house programmatic buying discipline from 0 to 1, establishing core operating processes as we grow our in-house media team to support our expanding business footprint and global international expansion.
  • Scale AI & Operational Automation: Deploy AI bidding strategies, automated trading rules, and intelligent workflows to eliminate tedious manual setup steps, optimize DCO creative variations, and scale real-time campaign performance.
  • Partner on Incrementality & Advanced Measurement: Partner closely with Marketing Analytics and Data Science teams to design, execute, and evaluate incrementality experiments (geo-tests, holdout studies, conversion lift) and ensure clean media data feeds into enterprise Media Mix Models (MMM).
  • Negotiate PMPs & Manage Publisher Partnerships: Act as the primary buyer negotiator with tier-1 platforms and premium publishers/SSPs to secure high-value Private Marketplaces (PMPs), Programmatic Guaranteed (PG) deals, and early beta access.

You have:
  • 10+ Years Experience & Hands-On Executor Mentality: Senior media buying and Ad Ops expertise, operating as an active builder who handles campaign setup, trafficking, bid tuning, and daily optimizations.
  • 0-to-1 Agility in Fast-Paced Environments: Proven success building programmatic strategies from scratch in high-velocity, ambiguous settings with an active, non-"set it and forget it" operating style.
  • Mastery of Enterprise DSPs, Google Ads & Ad Ops: Deep strategic and tactical command of DV360, Amazon DSP, The Trade Desk, Google Ads, and full CM360/Ad Ops QA standards.
  • MarTech & Mobile Privacy Command (MMP / SKAN / ATT): Hands-on experience with MMPs (Kochava, AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular), Apple ATT, SKAdNetwork, cookie compliance, and server-side tagging.
  • Proven PMP & SSP Deal Negotiation: Established track record in setting up, managing, and negotiating Preferred Deals, Private Marketplaces (PMPs), and Programmatic Guaranteed (PG) inventory with various publishers and SSPs.
  • Cross-Functional Analytics Partnership: Track record of collaborating with dedicated Marketing Analytics and Data Science teams to define measurement requirements and act on incrementality test insights.

We prefer:
  • Omnichannel & Emerging Tech (CTV, Audio, DOOH & LLMs): Experience scaling media across CTV, Digital Audio, DOOH, emerging AI/LLM ad channels (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini), and App Marketplaces (ASA, Google Play).
  • AI & Agentic Automation Workflows: Skill in deploying AI agents and automated workflows to eliminate repetitive operational tasks and streamline campaign alerting and reporting.
  • Ride-Hailing & App Acquisition Expertise: Proven track record driving rapid user acquisition, app re-engagement, and hyper-local demand growth in ride-hailing, utility, or retail apps.
  • Data Engineering & Analytics Collaboration: Technical literacy to partner with Data Engineering and Marketing Analytics to guide data pipeline and tool development without writing code directly.

Travel Requirements:
  • ~10% for team off-sites
