Position Summary GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs clerical and technological library tasks according to established procedures. Work may be performed in one or more activities, involve public service, assisting the public in the use of digital technology, clerical work, library materials preparation, and arrangement. Job Duties Job Duties: Manage all in-coming and outgoing Interlibrary loan materials and requests including checking materials in and out Keep track of all interlibrary loan paperwork, including overdue notices and invoicing for lost materials Manage all periodical subscriptions, including preparing and cataloging incoming volumes, and withdrawing older volumes according to procedure.

Deliver and retrieve extension materials, driving the library van Retrieve returned items from external library drop boxes using the library van Deliver and pick up library materials from the Mall location and the Dubuque County Asbury branch with the library van Office work may include processing library materials, typing, data entry, word processing, recording and file maintenance routines associated with patron files; notices of overdue library materials; sorting and routing of library mail; preparing letters and reports; basic bookkeeping; inventory. Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Digital Technology- Knowledge of and experience with computers, computer software, particularly digital technology, ability to operate the computerized library catalog, check materials in and out; run reports Problem Solving- Ability to receive and handle complaints and problems from both internal and external customers Customer Services- Ability to relate to, work pleasantly with and communicate effectively with co-workers and the public Confidentiality- Ability to tread information with confidentiality Productivity- Ability to work independently, without constant supervision, remain focused, and to be self-motivated Instructions- Ability to follow oral and written instructions Collaborative Leadership- Demonstrated ability to follow management philosophy that is input oriented and values fairness, problem solving and development of partnerships; demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team; desire to be part of an organization that values service, people, integrity, responsibility, innovation and teamwork.

Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Customer service experience Experience using computers for clerical activities such as data entry, word processing and preparing spreadsheets; experience with digital technology across multiple platforms Possession of a high-school diploma or its equivalent; Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the essential knowledge, skills and abilities. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in a Library setting Experience with Interlibrary loan Iowa Driver's License Supplemental Information Employee may work variable hours including weekends. WORKING CONDITIONS: Duties require extensive sitting and keyboarding at a computer terminal, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, climbing stairs, and lifting; bending and stooping; lifting and carrying boxes or other objects weighing up to 25-30 lbs.
