What is a digital learning consultant?

Digital Learning Consultants are professionals who specialize in designing, implementing, and evaluating digital learning solutions for organizations or educational institutions. They assess the learning needs of clients, recommend appropriate technologies or platforms, and often help develop online courses and training materials. Their expertise bridges the gap between educational goals and digital tools, ensuring effective and engaging learning experiences. They may also provide training and support to educators or staff on best practices for using digital learning resources.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a digital learning consultant?

To thrive as a Digital Learning Consultant, you need expertise in instructional design, adult learning theory, and digital education platforms, usually supported by a relevant degree or certifications like ATD or CIPD. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, and analytics software is typically required. Exceptional communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills set top consultants apart. These competencies ensure effective design, delivery, and evaluation of impactful digital learning solutions tailored to organizational needs.

What are the main challenges digital learning consultants face when implementing new e-learning solutions in organizations?
