Job Summary

The Internal Communications & Engagement Intern will support efforts to keep employees informed, connected, and engaged across the organization. This role provides hands-on experience in internal communications, employee engagement, recognition, employer branding, and event support. Working closely with Human Resources, Learning & Development, and business leaders, the intern will assist with creating employee communications, maintaining communication channels, supporting company events, and helping bring company culture to life through storytelling and engagement initiatives.


This internship is ideal for a student interested in Communications, Public Relations, Human Resources, Marketing, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.


Key Responsibilities

Internal Communications Support

  • Assist with creating and editing employee communications, including emails, videos, digital signage content, and PowerPoint slides.
  • Support communication campaigns related to company initiatives, training programs, recognition efforts, and employee events.
  • Help maintain communication calendars and schedules.
  • Assist with proofreading and formatting communication materials.

Digital Signage & Communication Channels

  • Update and maintain Yodeck digital signage content.
  • Assist with managing content on communication platforms such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and ADP.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve communication reach and effectiveness, particularly for frontline employees.

Employee Engagement & Recognition

  • Administer the company’s monthly pulse survey process including survey setup, distribution, monitoring participation and communicating survey timelines.
  • Support the administration of the Seeds of Impact recognition program.
  • Assist with recognition campaigns, employee spotlights, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Gather employee stories and success highlights for communication channels.

Events Support

  • Assist with planning and execution of townhalls, trainings, offsites, career fairs, recognition events, and other company gatherings.
  • Help create presentations, event communications, signage, and promotional materials.
  • Support event logistics, registration, and post-event follow-up.

Social Media Support

  • Assist with creating content for social media platforms to showcase employee stories, company culture, and career opportunities.

Learning & Administrative Support

  • Support LMS administration activities, including maintaining learning preferences and learner records.
  • Help coordinate communication translations and resources for multilingual employees.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing (or recently graduated with) a degree in Communications, Marketing, Human Resources, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, content creation tools (like Canva), and a desire to learn new platforms.
  • Curious, proactive, and excited to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest in employee engagement, internal communications, learning and development, or employer branding.
  • Experience working on school organizations, events, student leadership, or communication projects.
