Job description

We’re looking for a Power Electronics Engineer focused on the design and integration of power electronics used in high-performance fan, compressor, and turbomachinery development who can own performance, drive power-density improvements, and shape next-generation system architectures. What You’ll Do Design, simulate and analyze power electronic systems and drive systems.
Develop the controls architecture, identify sensor needs and software requirements of power conversion devices.
Analyze systems with respect to electrical, harmonic, and thermal behavior.
Support prototype fabrication, instrumentation, testing, and qualification activities.
Support system integration of power electronics with high performance machines. Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, controls, and electrical engineers to ensure performance aligns with system-level requirements. Required Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years of engineering experience designing power electronics hardware, preferably in Aerospace & Defense Industry.
Experience with high power inverter and gate drive circuitry for motor drives.
Experience designing for high-voltage (270 VDC – 600 VDC) environments.
Proficiency with simulation tools and basic programming skills in C and MATLAB.
Strong EE fundamentals and circuit design experience in power electronics, analog and digital circuits with FPGA-based and/or microcontroller-based embedded systems.
Ability to move from concept through hardware validation.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
U.S. Citizen (due to program requirements). Preferred Experience Experience in EMC design and validation.
Experience with PMAC and BLDC motor drives.
Experience with FOC sensor and sensorless control.
Familiarity with aerospace standards: MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, DO-160.
Familiarity with AS9100D development environments and structured design reviews Tools You’ll Use Altium Designer, MATLAB & Simulink, SPICE-based tools, PLM/PDM systems, ERP/MRP (Deltek Costpoint or similar), MS Office/Teams/SharePoint. Work Environment & Eligibility Office and laboratory environment with test facility exposure; ability to occasionally lift up to ~25 lbs; travel ~10–20% for customer meetings or test support.
