Job description

If you are a Training Manager professional Iooking for an opportunity to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting role for you. Based in Elyria, OH, this position leads the design, development, and execution of a best-in-class training system that supports plant operations. You will partner across functions to standardize technical training, strengthen workforce capability, and help ensure products are manufactured to the highest quality and safety standards. This is a highly visible opportunity to drive meaningful impact through training, development, and continuous improvement.
 

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Design, build, and execute a comprehensive training system for manufacturing processes.
  • Create and maintain a standardized approach to operations and technical training across departments.
  • Develop and sustain production training programs, including training materials, trainer/trainee engagement, and effectiveness tracking.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training documentation and digital training records, including training matrices.
  • Establish and manage audit systems to verify compliance with safety, quality, and production requirements.
  • Conduct plant-wide training needs assessments to identify skill and knowledge gaps.
  • Implement scalable processes and systems to address training needs and close capability gaps.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and deliver training programs across production areas.
  • Identify and apply effective training methods and learning tools, including hands-on and digital approaches.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and measure impact on employee performance and skill development.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and guidance to trainers and employees to support development.
  • Monitor and direct trainers performing production training activities.
  • Advise leadership on training opportunities and recommend action plans for improvement.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders to continuously enhance training programs.
  • Support training delivery across shifts as needed.
  • Lead initiatives to improve training processes and drive operational excellence.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in training and development within a manufacturing or operations environment.
  • Ability to build, implement, and manage structured training programs and processes.
  • Strong digital literacy, including Microsoft Office and tools for creating and delivering training content.
  • Ability to analyze information, manage processes, and maintain standards.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience leading or enhancing production training programs in a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as 6S, Kaizen, or process improvement practices.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple initiatives effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and initiative.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or developing others in a technical or operational environment.

Since the invention of the modern pipe wrench in 1923, the 25-acre RIDGID world headquarters in Elyria, OH has been developing tools that help trades professionals tackle jobs faster, safer, and more accurately. Today, more than 600 employees work in 734K sq. ft. of office and manufacturing space. The campus is also home to a factory tool service center and a state-of-the-art "schoolhouse" training center that educates and trains hundreds of tradespersons annually.
