Job description

Desert Publications Inc., publisher of Palm Springs Life and other luxury lifestyle and visitor publications, seeks a Digital Art Director with strong digital art directing skills to deliver creative solutions for a diverse range of marketing and integrated communications needs. This is a hands-on role responsible for concepting, designing, and producing integrated creative across digital, social, email, web, events, and print. The Digital Art Director will independently develop concepts, determine visual approaches, translate marketing objectives into compelling creative executions, and carry projects through final production while maintaining brand consistency and a high standard of quality across channels. Strong independent judgment and problem-solving skills are essential.
This is a full-time, salaried position located in Palm Springs, CA. This position is not remote.

Responsibilities
  • Translate marketing objectives into compelling creative solutions
  • Design, build, test, and deploy responsive email marketing campaigns using ESP/email marketing platforms
  • Develop creative concepts and visual direction for integrated campaigns
  • Develop platform-appropriate creative assets for social media, including static, animated, and video content
  • Own projects from concept and design through production and delivery
  • Ensure consistency and quality across print, digital, email, web, social and event applications
  • Design and produce website content using web editing platforms such as WordPress
  • Manage multiple concurrent creative projects and production schedules, ensuring assets are delivered accurately and on deadline
  • Adapt print campaigns into digital, email, and social executions

Desired Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of professional design experience, with demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated digital creative
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, digital design best practices, and user experience principles
  • Strong understanding of the process of concept development, creative messaging, and storyboarding
  • Ability to work independently partnering with marketing, editorial, sales, events, digital/web, and leadership
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, software, and AI-assisted creative tools, and appropriately incorporate them into workflows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Maintain organized project files, creative assets, and production documentation

Technical Skills/Software
  • Working cross-platform (PC and Mac) and with various presentation devices/OS platforms

  • MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
