Role Summary
We are seeking a collaborative and strategic Content Consultant, Digital Content Strategy to serve as a trusted advisor to business units and marketing teams across the enterprise. This role focuses on translating enterprise content strategy into practical, actionable guidance that helps teams deliver high-quality, effective digital content across a variety of digital channels.
You might call yourself a content strategist, content designer, a UX content strategist, content engineer, information architect, UX writer, or another title. You will work on high-impact projects developing the fundamental content approach that elevates the way we meet our customers' needs. You will be a strategic partner to diverse stakeholders, including business units, marketing, SEO/GEO, platform, UX, CX, and analytics teams. You will act as the bridge between centralized content strategy and decentralized execution.

What You Will Do:
  • Serve as the primary content strategy advisor for assigned business units or marketing teams.
  • Present and deliver UX content recommendations built on research and data to a diverse set of partners and stakeholders
  • Train business units content creators on enterprise content standards for web, email, paid media, and AI that empower distributed teams to plan, create, and optimize high-impact content
  • Lead discovery meetings and workshops with business units and internal stakeholders to understand their content needs, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Help build and maintain documentation that enables teams to activate and adhere to enterprise guidelines
  • Represent an informed content POV during collaborative, cross-functional working sessions
  • Roll out content guidance to business units, content authors, and marketers across the organization with training sessions
  • Show content success metrics and use insights to improve performance, engagement, and customer experience
  • Review digital content and comprehensive recommendations on information architecture, clarity, consistency, accessibility, content reuse, and SEO/GEO best practices.
  • Partner with the other Content Strategists to inform strategy and process improvements.
  • Report back challenges, needs, and opportunities to the central content strategy team.
  • Provide thought leadership on modular content strategy, metadata usage, GEO content strategy, and emerging digital content methodologies

Vendor/Supplier Management: Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants and suppliers).
Digital Marketing: Knowledge of processes, techniques, and platforms of digital marketing; ability to implement or manage digital marketing programs.

  • Proven experience in digital content strategy, digital marketing, UX writing, content design, enterprise content operations and management, content systems architecture, or related fields.
  • Proven experience with end-to-end content strategy for large scale experience redesigns for complex, content-heavy digital experiences.
  • Progressively complex marketing and digital experience, including digital content planning, user journeys, SEO/GEO, and analytics.
  • Strong applied understanding of customer journeys, digital channels, content performance metrics, and personalized content experiences.
  • High degree of organization and meticulousness to ensure comprehensive recommendations, content accuracy, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Proven track record of building cross-functional relationships and partnerships with SEO/GEO, UX, CX, analytics, marketing technology teams, and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with CMS platform Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), CCMS platforms, and modular content strategy is a plus.
  • Experience with content design system documentation, metadata and taxonomy, and content modeling is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of marketing automation tools, Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a plus.

Summary Pay Range:
$97,530.00 - $146,290.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
