Job description

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Manufacturing Technology & Analytics Leader is responsible for identifying, deploying, and enabling the use of manufacturing technologies and analytics across the Roofing network.

This role serves as a change agent, focused on ensuring digital tools, analytics, and technologies are successfully delivered into plants and effectively utilized by site teams to support safety, quality, stability, productivity, and cost goals.

This position partners closely with Digital Manufacturing, Data & Analytics, IT/OT, and other enterprise teams, serving as the primary Roofing point of contact, while translating enterprise platforms into practical, plant-ready solutions.

Success in this role is defined by deployment, adoption, and effective utilization of tools, rather than direct ownership of site performance results.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Reports to: Director Stable Operations

Span of Control: No direct reports; broad influence across Roofing manufacturing sites and enterprise functions

Location: Located within driving distance an Asphalt Shingles Manufacturing Site: Atlanta, GA; Brookville, IN; Compton, CA; Denver, CO; Irving, TX; Jacksonville, FL; Kearny, NJ; Medina, OH; Memphis, TN; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Savannah, GA; Summit, IL

Preferred Location: Owens Corning World Headquarters, Toledo, OH; Owens Corning Science and Technology, Granville, OH.

Travel Requirement: 50%-70%

Matrix Organization: This role works closely with Division Stable Operations, Digital Manufacturing, Data & Analytics, IT/OT, Reliability, Engineering, Product Management, and other functions.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • This role is accountable for deploying, scaling, and enabling adoption of manufacturing technology and analytics solutions across Roofing manufacturing facilities. The role ensures tools are in place, accessible, and effectively used by plant teams.
  • This role also serves as the primary interface between Roofing and enterprise digital and analytics teams, aligning priorities and driving execution across the network.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Safety Leadership

  • Ensure a safe work environment through employee coaching and engagement.
    Champion Owens Corning's Safety Stand across all manufacturing technology and analytics initiatives.
    Ensure new technologies, analytics solutions, automation, and digital tools are designed and deployed with safety as a core requirement.
    Effectively communicate safety expectations to internal teams and external partners.

Manufacturing Technology & Digital Transformation Leadership

  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and deployment of manufacturing technologies across the Roofing network.
  • Focus on delivering technologies into plants and enabling effective usage, rather than direct ownership of results.
  • Partner with plant leadership to ensure tools are aligned to operational needs and usable in daily work.
  • Support standardization and scalability, avoiding one-off or site-specific solutions.

 

Program Leadership & Value Realization

We are seeking a forward-thinking Digital Program Lead to execute the digital transformation strategy by matching technologies with business needs. This role will identify and deploy enabling solutions that close performance gaps, create business value, and support scalable, data-driven solutions across the Roofing network.

This leader will demonstrate strong technical capability, a scalable mindset, and a passion for delivering value to frontline teams.

  • Lead a disciplined approach for pilot, validation, rollout, and scaling of digital tools and analytics.
  • Ensure tools are successfully deployed across sites and embedded into operations.
  • Provide hands-on support, coaching, and guidance to drive adoption at the plant level.
  • Ensure solutions are practical, simple, and used by frontline teams.
  • Drive replication of successful solutions across the network.
  • Ensure appropriate governance, documentation, and sustainment plans are in place to support long-term use.

 

Manufacturing Analytics Leadership

  • Enable deployment and use of analytics tools to improve visibility, decision-making, and structured problem solving.
  • Ensure analytics outputs are accessible, understandable, and used by plant teams.
  • Partner with enterprise teams to ensure strong data quality and scalable analytics capability.
  • Support integration of analytics into daily management systems.

Process Innovation & Performance Improvement

  • Support plants in leveraging tools to remove losses and improve performance.
  • Provide data, insights, and technology enablement to site teams.
  • Reinforce sustainment practices so tools remain in use over time.
  • This role does not directly own plant KPIs, but is a key enabler of performance.

Process Excellence and Knowledge Management

  • Drive standardization of tools, platforms, and deployment approaches across plants.
  • Ensure development of OPLs, SOPs, playbooks, and training materials.
  • Enable knowledge capture and reuse across plants to reduce variability.

Cross-Functional and Matrix Collaboration

  • Operate effectively in a matrix environment, influencing outcomes beyond direct authority.
  • Act as the connector between plant operations and enterprise digital teams.
  • Communicate technical and analytical concepts clearly to plant teams, site leaders, and leadership.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, analytics, or digital transformation roles
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and driving change in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to travel up to 50%-70%

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience identifying, piloting, and scaling manufacturing technology or analytics solutions
  • Experience deploying and enabling adoption of digital tools across multiple sites
  • Exposure to AI, advanced analytics, or industrial data platforms
  • Background in continuous manufacturing (Roofing or building materials preferred)
  • Experience partnering with IT/OT and enterprise analytics teams
