The Office of Information Technology Department at CU Boulder invites applications for a Temporary IT Digital Accessibility Analyst and Testing Coordinator! This is a full-time, Temporary position within the Digital Accessibility Office (DAO) and reports to the Accessibility and Usability Assessment Manager. This role supports and coordinates ICT review and accessibility testing efforts across CU Boulder and the University System Office, helping to advance both compliance and user experience goals.
In this position, you will evaluate digital tools and IT products, both existing and under consideration, to identify accessibility and usability risks. You will synthesize findings and communicate clear, actionable recommendations to campus partners, collaborators, and vendors, supporting informed decision-making and a more inclusive digital environment.
This role serves as a central coordinator within the accessibility testing process. You will help determine when and how testing is needed within development and procurement workflows, develop and refine test scripts, review tester notes, and validate reported issues for accuracy and consistency. You will also contribute to reports and documentation that translate technical findings into practical guidance for a range of audiences.
As a key partner to internal development efforts, you will collaborate with project teams and other partners to integrate accessibility and usability standard processes throughout the project lifecycle. This position helps foster a shared understanding of accessibility as both a compliance requirement and a critical component of user experience.
The ideal candidate brings a working knowledge of accessibility standards and frameworks (such as WCAG and Section 508) and familiarity with accessibility documentation (e.g., VPATs/ACRs). While hands-on testing with assistive technologies is not required, the ability to coordinate testing efforts, interpret results, and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences is essential to success in this role.

Coordinate Accessibility and Usability Testing:
- Coordinate accessibility and usability testing activities across development workflows, ensuring alignment with project timelines and priorities.
- Participate in product demos and project meetings to determine appropriate testing approaches.
- Develop and refine test scripts based on product functionality, user needs, and institutional priorities.
- Review and synthesize tester notes, validating reported issues for accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
- Translate testing results into clear, actionable reports for customers, partners, and vendors, balancing technical detail with practical guidance.
Assess IT Procurement Risk:
- Work with the Accessibility and Usability Assessment Manager to refine IT procurement requests through the ICT Review process
- Analyze IT procurement requests and assign appropriate level of risk to each procurement.
- Participate in procurement discussions and RFP processes to assess accessibility risk of IT being brought into the campus environment.
Consult on Internal CU Development Efforts:
- Partner with project teams,and partners to integrate accessibility and usability standards throughout the development lifecycle.
- Participate in meetings to provide guidance on accessibility considerations, helping teams make informed decisions that support both compliance and user experience.
- Serve as a resource on accessibility standards and documentation (e.g., WCAG, Section 508, VPATs/ACRs), helping interpret and apply them in context.
Professional Engagement and Team Contribution:
- Participate in Digital Accessibility Office (DAO) and Accessibility & Usability (AU) team meetings and initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through webinars, conferences, and other learning opportunities to know the latest accessibility practices and trends.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support broader DAO priorities as needed.
- This is a full-time, temporary role. We anticipate the assignment lasting through June 2027.
- This position will follow a hybrid schedule.
The hourly rate for this full-time, temporary position is $31.25.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
- 1+ years of professional, job related experience.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong writing skills.
- 2-3 years' experience with IT software, and systems.
- 2-3 years' experience in the field of accessibility, disability service, assistive technology.
- 2-3 years' experience in a higher education setting.
- Experience with project management.
- Ability to use different forms of assistive technology.
