Interstate Power System's is looking for Entry Level Diesel Technicians at our Grand Forks North Dakota location. If you are looking for a career that will provide you valuable on the job and classroom training then we want you!

Scheduled Shift: Monday-Friday

Pay Range: $22 - $29 per hour DOE

Mechanic Job Duties:

  • This is an Entry Level position, developing and learning a skilled trade while working with Factory Trained/Certified Technicians.
  • Entry level troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all types of trucks
  • PM work, oil changes, lights, A/C, brakes, tire changes, basic tech work!
  • Will train and grow entry level techs into full blown diesel techs
  • Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all heavy duty components
  • Positive interface with service writers, foreman, parts department and customers
  • Keep paper work updated and handed in upon completion

Desired Skills and Qualities:

  • Technical degree or certification a plus
  • Positive attitude and the ability to set goals and accomplish them
  • The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

Position Requirements for Mechanics:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A strong desire to learn and grow your technical skill set with heavy duty trucks
  • Be able to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs
  • Must have your own set of general tools
  • Use computers for web based training and work order system
  • Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions
