Pay: $20 – $30 / hour. Pay is dependent on experience and skill set. Amount is not inclusive of the total compensation package.

Purpose of the Job
This manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Die Setter to support production operations by setting up and maintaining tooling in power presses used to manufacture metal products. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient press setup, safe operations, and consistent product quality in a metal stamping environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain production tooling and perform die changes and job setups in production presses.
  • Complete setup documentation and maintain accurate setup information for dies.
  • Pre-stage all setups including tools, dies, chutes, clamping equipment, transfer fingers, grippers, and related materials.
  • Load metal coils onto the mandrel and feed them through the straightener and into the die.
  • Assist team members with coil re-banding and removal from presses when needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and support departments to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Support and maintain 5S and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Supply the tool room with necessary dies and maintain organization of die and coil storage areas.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor to support production operations.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous Die Setter experience in a metal stamping environment required.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use quality measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, profilometers, and optical comparators.
  • Familiarity with toolroom equipment such as lathes, mills, and surface grinders preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle tools and equipment.
  • Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment with moving mechanical parts and stamping equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical equipment.
  • Noise levels may be high; hearing protection is required and provided.
  • Safety glasses are required and provided.
  • Steel-toe safety shoes or boots are required.

Shift Schedule
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Monday – Friday with occasional overtime, including weekends as needed.
