Georgia-Pacific's Owosso, MI Corrugated Box Plant is seeking a Production Supervisor, Corrugated/Converting Operations to lead third-shift, Monday through Friday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with potential overtime and flexibility to support other shifts as needed. This role includes up to 10% travel and offers compensation based on experience, along with performance-based incentives.

You will lead, coach, and support the corrugated/converting team while troubleshooting issues, improving processes, and guiding the team through real-time operational challenges that directly impact safety, quality, reliability, and overall plant performance.

What You Will Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop the corrugated/converting operations team to achieve targets in safety, quality, uptime, and throughput
  • Lead as a principled entrepreneur, taking ownership for results and continuously improving people, processes, and performance
  • Apply strong technical and analytical thinking to troubleshoot converting performance, identify root causes, and implement sustainable countermeasures
  • Drive continuous improvement by using data, observation, and structured problem-solving to reduce waste, improve run speeds, and increase reliability
  • Anticipate and resolve operational issues by understanding process capability, equipment limitations, and material flow
  • Partner closely with maintenance, quality, and downstream operations to ensure alignment and smooth handoffs across shifts
  • Champion proactive safety leadership, including hazard identification and root-cause investigations
  • Monitor production data and performance trends to support informed decision-making
  • Develop team capability through training, coaching, and building bench strength for future leadership roles

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • 3+ years of experience leading or influencing results in manufacturing, industrial operations, or military environments
  • Experience developing team capability, setting clear expectations, and helping others contribute to long-term business results
  • Demonstrated ability to apply judgment, technical aptitude, and structured problem-solving to improve safety, quality, reliability, or operational performance
  • Contribution-motivated leader who takes ownership, challenges the status quo constructively, and seeks better ways to create value
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust, encourage knowledge sharing, and engage operators, peers, and leaders with respect
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, deal with reality constructively, and follow through on commitments in a dynamic operating environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and/or manufacturing systems to turn data and operational knowledge into informed decisions and performance improvements

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Supervisory experience in manufacturing, with converting or converting operations experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of converting assets with a strong emphasis on Evol / Flexo / Rotary Die Cut machines or corrugated manufacturing assets such as corrugators, flexographic printing presses, die cutters, folder gluer.
  • Experience leading root-cause problem solving (A3, 5 Whys, Pareto analysis, etc.) and converting findings into lasting improvements
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or reliability-focused improvement tools
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline or equivalent leadership experience
