Senior Die Cast Process Engineer
Location: Minneapolis, MN

About Us: Twin City Die Castings Company (TCDC) is a full-service provider of precision Aluminum and Magnesium die castings, proudly serving industries such as Automotive, Recreational, Industrial Equipment, Defense, Aerospace, Computer, HVAC, and Medical. Founded in 1919, TCDC has grown to be one of the premier custom die casters in the industry. Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Die Cast Engineer to join our team. This role is based at our Minneapolis, MN plant but will work in our Monticello, MN and Watertown, SD plants as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in die casting processes, materials, and tooling, with a proven track record of leading projects and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires strict adherence to US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Candidates must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop die casting processes and tooling for new products.
  • Lead and manage die casting projects from concept to production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and performance.
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and production staff.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in die casting technology.
  • Travel to other plants in Monticello, MN, and Watertown, SD to support manufacturing across the organization.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a related manufacturing and/or engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of foundry methodologies.
  • Experience in process development or manufacturing engineering related to aluminum die casting.
  • Knowledge of casting dies, metal pouring, critical control parameters, part removal, deburring, etc.
  • Experience with thermal control and process optimization.
  • Familiarity with statistical techniques.
  • Proficient in problem-solving.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic systems and software. CAD experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment.
