The Role

Agilent is seeking a leader to build and scale the internal platform that powers its global R&D organization. This role is responsible for architecting and operating the engineering infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms that enable teams to deliver high-quality software at speed and scale.

In this role, you will treat developers as customers and platform capabilities as products. Your mission is to modernize how software is built, tested, secured, and deployed-enabling a shift from infrequent, manual releases to continuous, automated delivery across the enterprise. This is a high-impact leadership role with broad influence across engineering, security, and R&D teams worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Engineering & CI/CD Strategy

  • Own the design, implementation, and evolution of enterprise-wide CI/CD pipelines across the R&D organization, leveraging tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, and Jenkins.
  • Establish a standardized, scalable platform that accelerates developer productivity and software delivery consistency.
  • Define and enforce platform engineering best practices across teams and regions.

Infrastructure as Code & Cloud Enablement

  • Lead adoption of Infrastructure as Code principles across all environments, including compute, networking, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and artifact management.
  • Drive cloud-native platform capabilities across AWS and Azure environments to support SaaS and hybrid deployments.
  • Ensure platforms are reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient.

Predictive & Resilient Operations

  • Evolve operations from reactive monitoring to predictive, AI-enabled observability, proactively identifying and resolving performance and scalability risks.
  • Establish operational metrics, dashboards, and feedback loops to continuously improve platform reliability and availability.

DevSecOps & Compliance Automation

  • Partner with Security and Compliance teams to embed automated security and compliance controls directly into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ensure regulatory and quality requirements are met through automation, without introducing friction into developer workflows.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead and develop global platform engineering and DevOps teams.
  • Harmonize tools, processes, and ways of working across diverse engineering organizations.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and customer-centric platform thinking.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles.
  • Demonstrated experience scaling cloud-based or SaaS platforms in complex, global environments.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior technical stakeholders.
