Job description

OBJECTIVE:

Executing high level project management support to CEC's top customer accounts. Providing high level communication both internally and externally to meet customer expectations while having CEC's best interests in mind; proactively driving projects to be completed on time, within budget and by specifications.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

Project Notification:

  • Ensures customer is contacted within 48 hours of project Award.
  • Reviews overall project objectives and timelines with customer and establishes ongoing communication strategy.
  • Ensures all required project information has been provided to Operations from Sales and Engineering.
  • Assigns project related tasks within ConnectWise in relation to project timelines.
  • Project Information Review: Reviews all information with key personnel to address questions and unknown

Project Planning:

  • Involves necessary CEC personnel in project plan for technology specific awareness and plan compliance.
  • Evaluates potential problems, impact, and solutions. Coordinate resources, site access, PPE requirements and equipment.
  • Creates a project plan with specific milestones to be able to achieve overall project budgets and timelines.
  • Creates Gantt charts, Risk Register, Site Safety Plans as required.
  • Adjust as necessary the project plan and communicate any changes for the duration of the project life cycle to all stakeholders.

Project Review with Customer: Review system functionality, schedule, and plan with customer. Oversees site walk-throughs to verify locations and identify safety hazards.

  • Project Kick-Off Meeting: Lead project Kick-Off meeting and communicate the project plan and reviews all project milestones. Oversee site walk-throughs to verify locations and identify safety hazards with project team.

Executing Project Plan:

  • Perform consistent site evaluations, safety inspections and CEC quality assurances to ensure project plan compliance. Mentor and correct discrepancies, when possible, report reoccurrences when necessary.
  • Communicate changes in the SOW and seek Change Order possibilities. Adapt project plan as needed.
  • Verify communication strategy is being executed by on-site project team.
  • Ensure project punch list and system testing is completed, coordinate customer training, and schedule documentation completion.
  • Assists CEC Sales/Engineering in pre-sales functions by sharing and/or compiling specific customer knowledge and design.

Closing the Project: Perform customer walk-throughs. Submit documentation, obtain customer sign off and verify completion for project fulfillment on all assigned projects.

  • Post Project Meetings: Provide input on project management processes, procedures, tools, and best practice improvement. Give recommendations to Sales and Engineering on improvement areas and project successes.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Senior Project Manager leads project team while they are working on assigned projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • 8+ years of project lead experience within CEC or similar company OR PMP certification
  • 2 safety related certifications
  • 3 CEC leadership trainings
  • 4 CEC business trainings
    • Industry certifications and trainings can/will be obtained during the first year of employment to meet the minimum qualifications when applicable

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations as well as customers.
  • Strong organizational, conflict-resolution, problem-solving and creative skills as well as the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment using accurate and timely analysis of available data.
  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • General knowledge of communications systems, including audio, video, security, fire alarm, wireless, and data networks.
  • PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) and strong working knowledge of Excel is preferred.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The employee may be required to be able to climb ladders up to 12 feet high or be in a lift to extended heights.

  • Lifting of objects is required, up to 50lbs.
  • Reaching, grasping and carrying activities are also required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
