Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines is typically required. Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills are crucial, especially when working remotely with distributed teams. These skills and qualities are essential for ensuring seamless deployment, system reliability, and effective teamwork in dynamic, cloud-based environments.

How does a remote DevOps Engineer typically collaborate with development and IT teams?

As a remote DevOps Engineer, collaboration is often achieved through a mix of communication tools like Slack, Jira, and video conferencing platforms. You'll participate in regular stand-ups, planning meetings, and code reviews to stay aligned with both development and IT operations teams. This is a relatively new term, but in general, DevOps focuses on having operations and development engineers participate in a full-service lifecycle to help support end-users and ensure the software becomes the best possible product.

What are DevOps Engineers (Remote)?

DevOps Engineers (Remote) are IT professionals who collaborate with development and operations teams to automate, streamline, and improve software development and deployment processes from remote locations. They focus on integrating code, managing infrastructure, monitoring systems, and ensuring continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines are efficient and reliable. Working remotely, they use cloud-based tools and platforms to manage servers, deploy applications, and maintain high system reliability without being physically present in an office. Their role is crucial in accelerating development cycles, reducing errors, and ensuring seamless collaboration between dispersed teams.

  • Deploy, manage, and optimize Kubernetes clusters across both cloud-based and on-premises environments to ensure scalability and resilience.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, enabling reliable and efficient software delivery.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) methodologies.
  • Enhance platform observability by implementing monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance optimization solutions.
  • Administer Linux-based infrastructure while ensuring security, availability, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot production issues, optimize deployment workflows, and improve infrastructure reliability.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of cloud infrastructure, automation strategies, and platform performance.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar infrastructure automation role.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Configuration as Code, preferably using Ansible.
  • Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code in cloud environments, ideally with AWS and Terraform.
  • Strong expertise in designing, configuring, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and the ELK Stack.
  • Advanced Linux system administration skills and strong knowledge of networking concepts, including routing, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Go, Python, or Groovy.
  • Experience with Kubernetes administration; familiarity with on-premises Kubernetes distributions (such as Rancher) is an advantage.
  • Experience working with VMware vSphere environments is considered a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset within Agile engineering teams.
Benefits
  • Flexible work arrangement with the option to work remotely.
  • Fully remote onboarding process.
  • Annual or quarterly performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • Continuous learning and career development through internal resources, company libraries, and partner training programs.
  • Comprehensive health and life insurance coverage.
  • Employee wellbeing initiatives, including access to professional psychological support.
  • Mobile communication expense reimbursement.
  • Opportunity to work with modern cloud-native technologies on large-scale, high-impact digital platforms.
