Azure Architect

About the role

As an Azure Architect, you will make an impact by designing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native applications and integration solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will be a valued member of the architecture team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, application developers, infrastructure teams, security teams, and project leadership to deliver innovative enterprise solutions that drive business value.

In this role, you will:
  • Design scalable Azure-based application architectures leveraging Azure Application Insights, Key Vault, Azure DevOps, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and API Management.
  • Define end-to-end solution blueprints that translate business requirements into secure, reliable, and high-performing Azure solutions.
  • Architect and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to automate build, testing, release, and deployment processes.
  • Design event-driven integration solutions using Azure Logic Apps and Azure Functions to streamline business workflows and improve operational efficiency.
  • Establish API strategies and governance using Azure API Management, including security, throttling, versioning, and access control standards.
  • Implement monitoring, telemetry, and alerting capabilities using Azure Application Insights to improve application performance, reliability, and operational visibility.
  • Design and implement secure secrets and credential management solutions using Azure Key Vault and enterprise security best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to estimate effort, review technical designs, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and governance standards.
  • Assess existing applications and platforms to identify cloud modernization opportunities that reduce technical debt and improve scalability and resilience.
  • Create and maintain architecture documentation, integration patterns, technical standards, and operational procedures that support long-term sustainability.

What you need to have to be considered
  • Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Hands-on expertise with Azure Integration Services, including Logic Apps, Azure Functions, API Management, Azure Key Vault, and Application Insights.
  • Experience architecting and implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, identity management, secrets management, and governance best practices.
  • Experience designing highly available, resilient, and scalable application architectures.
  • Proficiency in .NET application development and architecture patterns.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, integration patterns, and event-driven architectures.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and technical leadership skills.

  • Experience with hybrid cloud and enterprise integration environments.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep).
  • Experience modernizing legacy applications and migrating workloads to Azure.
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Developer Associate.
  • Experience establishing architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of container technologies and cloud-native application design patterns.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $129,500- $152,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
