About the Role
As a Manufacturing Test Engineer, you will develop and maintain production test solutions that ensure the quality and performance of HARMAN's audio products. In this role, you will translate product test requirements into detailed test specifications and implement automated test sequences using LabVIEW and TestStand. You will also support the design of complete test stations, including instrumentation selection, wiring, and integration. This is an individual-contributor role that collaborates closely with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
What You Will Do
  • Develop, implement, and maintain automated and manual test solutions for audio electronic products, automated production test sequences in LabVIEW and TestStand based on product-level test requirements and specifications.
  • Create detailed test specification documents that translate functional and acoustic test needs into implementable steps.
  • Design and support test stations, including equipment selection, wiring diagrams, DAQ integration, and scheduling to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to validate test coverage, optimize test flow, and ensure robust product evaluation.
  • Troubleshoot test failures, analyze data from instruments (including Audio Precision systems), and implement corrective actions to improve test reliability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of test methodologies, tools, and best practices within the team, Provide technical support to manufacturing and operations teams during pilot builds and production ramp-up.
  • Execute validation activities, analyze results, and document findings with clear, data-driven conclusions.

What You Need to Be Successful
  • Bachelor's Degree in Enginering. Software or Electrical engineering preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience creating automated test sequences, test specifications, or test equipment for electronic or audio products.
  • Strong understanding of automated test development using LabVIEW and TestStand in a production manufacturing environment.
  • Programming skills in languages commonly used for test automation (Python, C#, LabVIEW, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with audio technologies, including amplifiers, transducers, codecs, DSPs, and audio measurement principles.
  • Proficiency in test development, including designing, implementing, and validating automated test solutions for audio hardware.
  • Demonstrable experience working with key test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DAQ devices, and audio analyzers.
  • Proficiency in designing and documenting test stations, including wiring diagrams, instrumentation layouts, system integration, procedures, and validation report.
  • Ability to analyze test data, diagnose issues in mixed hardware/software systems, and drive improvements to test performance and reliability.
  • Collaborative mindset, able to work closely with design, firmware, manufacturing, and quality teams to drive product readiness.
  • Strong documentation discipline, capable of producing clear test plans, test specs, procedures, and validation reports
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in measurements, repeatability in test setups, and consistency in results.

Bonus Points if You Have
  • Experience with Audio Precision analyzers or other acoustic test measurement systems.
  • Programming experience in .NET for device control or instrumentation automation.
  • Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or Certified TestStand Developer (CTD) credentials.
  • Knowledge of Python for automation, data collection, or tool development.
  • Experience working with sequence management systems such as SuperNova.

Salary Ranges:
$ 78,750 - $ 115,500
