Job description

Position Overview :

Consumer Device Test Engineer (Cellular 3G/4G/5G)

  • We are looking for a Cellular Device Test Engineer with hands-on experience in testing mobile devices across 3G, 4G, and 5G networks.
  • The ideal candidate will have a background in field testing, strong log analysis skills, and a working knowledge of wireless carrier standards.
  • This position involves validating mobile performance, identifying network or device issues, and delivering regular status updates.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field and lab testing of smartphones, tablets, and wearables across multiple technologies.
  • Analyze logs and troubleshoot user equipment (UE) issues.
  • Utilize tools such as QxDM, QCAT, Wireshark, ELT, STT, etc. for detailed diagnostics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to report findings.
  • Provide clear and concise daily test reports to stakeholders.
  • Test device performance in real-world network environments and identify performance gaps.

Requirements:

  • 1–5 years of mobile device or smartphone field testing experience.
  • Solid knowledge of 3G, 4G LTE, and 5G cellular protocols and standards.
  • Familiar with testing procedures for consumer electronics.
  • Experience working with major U.S. wireless carriers is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and interpreting log files from UE testing.
  • Comfortable navigating and testing across various mobile platforms.
