Job description

Overview Project Management Intern - Temporary Internship - LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY Gilbane Development Company is looking for local students to consider an exciting internship opportunity for December 2026 through July 2027. This Project Management internship will provide you with hands-on experience and the opportunity to work on a modern apartment community project with 375 units, two miles south of downtown with easy access to Ben White Boulevard and Highway 71. You will provide on-site support to the Gilbane Development Company (GDCo) management team on the construction of the "Aer" multifamily project (2001 S.

Lamar Austin Blvd, Austin TX 78704 / https://www.gilbaneco.com/projects/aer/ ). You will provide support through various administrative/documentation responsibilities as well as on-site verification of various project/occupancy-related tasks.   Term: Positions will be of a limited term, commencing around early December through late July

  Anticipated Work Hours: The position requires flexibility on the part of the PM Intern as to specific work hours on a daily basis, including weekends. Working site hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Gilbane is willing to cooperate with the PM Intern to develop a work schedule which fulfills the employer's requirements, while accommodating the PM Intern's class schedule.Responsibilities - Assist in the development and updating of documents required to track the completion of construction, punch list and Owner acceptance of each individual space within the facility

This check list will identify not only punch list correction, but also verification that various building systems (i.e. plumbing, lighting, etc.) is operational in each individual space. - Updating of documents required to track the delivery, installation and punch list/Owner acceptance of furniture, fixtures & equipment (FF&E)

- Verify the completion of all work and correction of construction punch list items for select assigned spaces. Training and guidance will be provided to the PM Assistant from the Construction Manager/ Development Manager regarding quality expectations and documentation requirements for this punch list process. - Assist GDCo team with the coordination and oversight of multiple FF&E vendors during the delivery and installation of various FF&E.

During this process, collect/secure or otherwise track any items that will later be turned over to the property management team (i.e. television remote controls, equipment manuals, etc.). - Verify the installation of FF&E (in terms of quantity and specified items having been received) and develop a punch list for any FF&E discrepancies that require correction

- Verify the completion/correction of any identified FF&E punch list items. - Assist GDCo team with the receipt and placement of any incidental FF&E items which are being directly purchased by GDCo (i.e. waste receptacles, closet curtains, etc.)Qualifications EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION - Currently enrolled in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar program - Prior exposure to construction industry is a plus - Or equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Strong interpersonal skills (while collaborating with a diverse group of individuals) - Excellent command of the English language, written and oral - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office - Willingness to assist in all areas of specific responsibilities as noted herein - Superior attention to detail and organizational abilities #LI-DNP   We invest in our employees' education and have built Gilbane University into a top training organization in the construction industry
