How you will make an impact:
The Research & Development (R&D) Lab Supervisor will oversee a dynamic team of Research Assistants and R&D technicians, ensuring the successful execution of research projects and the smooth operation of the lab. This role involves managing daily lab activities, coordinating research efforts, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in bio-manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for scientific innovation. Working synergistically within the department and across the company is a core principle at Meissner, allowing us to realize the extraordinary, together.

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Research Assistants and R&D technicians.
  • Coordinate and schedule our R&D technical staff. Oversee the execution, and analysis of research experiments and trials.
  • Manage day-to-day lab operations, including scheduling, documentation, equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
  • Plan and prioritize research projects to meet company objectives and timelines.
  • Ensure all research activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in lab operations and research methodologies.

This is an on-site role based out of our headquarters in Camarillo, CA.
The skills and experience you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or STEM-related subject.
  • 6-8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2-3 years in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, and proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment. Experience with bio-manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
  • In-depth understanding of laboratory safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and quality control standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Proficient with programs including MS Office Suite.
